2011 Toyota Corolla - This is what we ended up with. It’s far from perfect but I’m proud of why we did this detail. My marching orders weren’t to get it perfect, my orders were to remove the smell and make it presentable again, that’s what I set my mindset to.
Here's the story about this detail:
She is a 78-year-old lady, long story short she got sick was put in the hospital. Her dog was put in a kennel. Her neighbors had keys to her house while she was in the hospital for four months. They went in and totally destroyed her apartment. They stole a bunch of her money. They stole a bunch of her stuff. Her landlord kicked her out once she got out of the hospital. She became homeless. She was sleeping in her car with her dog for six months. I just happen to come up on her where I work in a parking lot right before the snowstorm, she finally started opening up to me after weeks of me, pulling up beside her each day after work and talking with her and praying with her when I found out that the snowstorm was coming in the ice storm was coming. I asked her to follow me to Paris and my father-in-law was going to pay for her to stay for three nights in a hotel here in Paris she agreed and by the grace of God church friends of mine people just stepped up and she was able to stay in the hotel for 3 1/2 weeks. I then found her a duplex. She is now on doing very very well. She was just very down on her luck and had no way of knowing what to do or how to do what she needed to do.
She would not go to a shelter because she couldn’t take her dog, and she said the dog was the only thing that she had left in life, and there was no way she was going to give her away or be without her.
78 years old, nothing left in life but her dog, living in your car for 6 months...I can't imagine what that's like. All gone in an instance.
