With the limited number of Targas made for the 996 generation - especially those brought to North America - it felt like our duty to make sure this car made it back out into the wild doing what it was intended to do: bring the kind of smile only a 911 can put on your face!

Throwback Thursday!

Close to two years ago we had the opportunity to take a 996.2 Targa that had been sitting in a hangar for close to 10 years and get it road worthy again!

Sometimes it’s just the basics!!

This C6 had been fighting a brake drag issue after a full overhaul on the system.

Prior to arriving at our shop, the whole parts bin had been thrown at it — short of a booster! After running an automated bleed procedure and inspecting all the components that had been replaced, we just couldn’t wrap our heads around why it was still dragging.

That was until we got back to basics and went through everything that was touched during the master cylinder replacement, and found a simple trim piece preventing the pedal from returning to the released position.

Don’t overcomplicate it — sometimes you just have to get out of your typical groove!-

If you drive a BMW 2.0L - X1, X3, 3-Series - listen up.

This is your oil filter housing. It pressurizes your oil, controls temp, and protects your bearings, turbo, and valvetrain. Inside is a plastic manifold with rubber gaskets. When they fail, you leak oil, leak coolant, lose pressure, and overheat.
End result? Blown head gasket or a blown motor.

Preventative maintenance is always cheaper than a repair. Think of it like your annual checkup.
