With all the rain I wasn’t sure we would be able to get a race in this weekend, but I was able to get out on the track and begin grading today. I do still have a reasonable amount of work to do in order to get the track race ready for tomorrow.

With that said I would like to move our start time back till 1:30 pm. Drivers meeting at 2:30. Please don’t miss it as most of you haven’t raced at Freedom Kart Speedway before and while most of our rules are the same as Rolla Speedway we do have several procedural things that are way different.

First class runs at 3.

When you show up please park in front of the house and I will let you know where to pit. Until just before race time I won’t know what is dry enough to use and what isn’t.

Tomorrow is a $20. entry fee day.

I will be working hard to get everything prepped for this Saturday so get em tuned up and ready to race.

3 pm, Open practice (2 rounds per class)
4 pm, Heat races (2 rounds per class)
5:30 pm, Second chance race (for classes with large kart counts)
6 pm, Feature races

If your coming from the Rolla Speedway Sprint Kart Series we will make a class for you using the same rules you run in Rolla. We have Rage Kart 150 and Outlaw 301 classes, but would love to have more. Especially youth classes.

Remember, If you are from the Rolla Speedway Sprint Kart Series this weekend you race with us for free.

All classes require a liability waver to be singed. Minors will need a parent/gradian signature.

Full face helmets and neck braces or HANS devices are a must for all classes.

Bring the whole family as we charge nothing extra for spectators.

Yes it’s still a work in progress, but it races great already. Lots of stuff still to finish and correct, but I will have it raceable by Saturday afternoon.

Planned schedule would be to race on the weekend that is in between the Rolla Speedway races. So starting this Saturday a race every other Saturday more or less. I will post the off weekends shortly as life does have other plans for me on some weekends.

I would like to invite all of you that race at Rolla Sprint Series to come up to Owenville and join us for FREE this Saturday.

The action starts at 3 pm with open practice followed by 2 heat races and a feature for each class.

So if you raced at the last race in Rolla your race entry is free.

Im working with the folks at Track Mate and did some testing yesterday with their timing and scoring system.

In the pictures you can see most of what’s involved. I tested 2 different types of transponders with 4 of the receivers. I spaced the receivers 24” apart and 30” above the tallest kart. Ran about 50’ of cat 5 cable back to my laptop so it could be in the shade.

Worked flawlessly. Both types of transponders counted every lap.

I will be taking to them more over the next few days to see what’s next in the testing, but I think this is something you will see implemented at the track soon.

In fact I bet it will still to pop up at go kart tracks all over the place as it is a very affordable solution.

The Freedom Kart crew will be at the Rolla Speedway tonight. We’re bringing 2 outlaw karts and 2 rage karts to play with. Come hang out with us and watch the action. Seems like I usually do something stupid so I provide great entertainment and it’s free to watch.

Bring your lawn chair and appetite because they have a concession stand.

If you don’t know me come introduce yourself. I’m easy to spot. Just think yellow.

So the track is finally nearly done and ready for some great racing action. I have also settled on a name for it. It's going to be the Freedom Kart Speedway and now has it's own page. So if you want to keep up on the racing action head on over to Freedom Kart Speedway on Facebook and see all the latest information.

Some of us are headed to the Rolla Speedway Sprint Kart Series this Friday night with our Rage Karts as well as the new Outlaw Kart that I bought. Come on out and check out the action.

We will be racing on 6/28 at The Freedom Kart Speedway and we will have a great fireworks show after the races. My place is one of the best places to watch the show.
