Now Open: Washburn’s Parts. 🏁


We are officially inviting the public to visit our new walk-in parts store in Orange County. We specialize in air-cooled Volkswagen and Porsche components, offering a selection of OEM refurbished German parts and quality aftermarket options. We are also an authorized EMPI dealer, helping us provide a more complete range of parts for your projects.

Visit the Showroom: Our lobby is designed for enthusiasts to browse parts in person. While you’re here, feel free to check out the current projects through our shop viewing windows. If you have any technical questions, our staff is available to help you find exactly what you need.

Hours:
Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: Half Day (Morning)

NOW HIRING: CHASSIS TECH / MANAGER

Washburns Metal is looking for a motivated leader to head up our Chassis Department! We are looking for someone who lives and breathes vintage VWs and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty to keep the shop moving.
As our Chassis Tech / Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the department—overseeing daily operations, managing a team, and ensuring multiple chassis builds cross the finish line on time without sacrificing the quality we’re known for.

The Role:
• Department Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the chassis team to meet strict deadlines.
• Hands-On Technical Work: Lead the assembly and completion of multiple chassis builds simultaneously.
• Customer Relations: Act as the point of contact for the intake and outgoing process of all chassis projects.
• Quality Control: Ensure every build—from a standard Beetle to a shortened Manx—meets our shop standards.
What You Need:
• VW Mastery: A fundamental understanding of Volkswagens is required. You must know the basic assembly of a VW Beetle chassis and how the body mates to the pan.
• Mechanical Skill: General mechanical experience is a huge plus.
• Fabrication: Welding and fabrication experience is a major plus, but we are willing to work with someone who has limited experience if the assembly foundation is solid.
• The Grind: This is a fast-paced environment that requires “elbow grease,” multitasking, and a high-energy attitude. Department manages 20+ projects at a time.
The Perks:
• Work on high-end vintage VW projects in a shop dedicated to the craft.
• Lead a team in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• Pay: Competitive and based on your experience.

FOR SALE - 1970 Transporter

Originally a passenger bus, but currently has westy interior although both center and rear seats can be included in the sale. The bus runs and drives great with a lower millage 1776cc installed. This motor was professionally built and can provide a detailed build sheet with what was done during the rebuild. The bus has had recent work done like new front ball joints, new CV axles, drag link, tie rods, oil change, valve adjustment, shocks, brand new off road tires with under 10 miles on them, newly upholstered front seats, all new mats, new under seat mats, new shift rod bushing, new solid shift rod coupler, working diesel heater. Bus is all original savannah beige paint, original paint bumpers, original paint wheels and has never had any body work, metal work or paint work done to the body. The only rust is a little under the front windshield area but otherwise an extremely solid bus.

This bus is a daily driver, ready for your summer adventures. Current title in my name, two new license plates with 2026 registration.
