I want to thank all of you for your feedback and comments. There have been over 7,000 views in the last 24 hrs. I am happy to say that I spoke with Aimee today and we both apologized for allowing this issue to get this far. We intend on meeting in the middle and working the problem out so that her car is back on the road without breaking the bank. It's impressive how well people bond together to support people they love and care for. I am optimistic that this situation will be resolved with a hand shake in the end! I'm sure this will be a learning experience for all who was involved.

Public Announcement...after 7 years of doing business, and over 40,000 receipts, I can count on one hand the times that I was unable to resolve a customer complaint or situation and shake hands in the end. Facebook and social media is a great way to communicate and share. However it can also be a tool to slander and to purposely bring harm to someone. Today, after bending over backward trying to satisfy a first time customer who obviously failed to maintain her car over the years, now expects us to be responsible for a transmission with over 200k miles. Without getting into details, we were trying to offer her a hope that new fluid could possibly help her transmission all though there were already signs of problems. Her expectations were that I put another transmission in for free. Not only having a sense of entitlement, which is not uncommon for this generation, but has now asked her entire contact list who have never stepped foot in here to rate us a 1*/5*. Obviously her feelings and opinion should not go unnoticed, but her intent to ask others to share her same view who probably don't even know the situation is wrong. I apologize for the mixed reviews. I urge you all to read comments and draw your own conclusion about our business.

Please pray for David Chase McCollum and his family. He is one of our own at Gateway Tire and Automotive. He was involved in a bad car accident last night. He is stable but broken up pretty bad. He's at UAB currently. We miss him and pray for a speedy recovery.
