Bret Tredway began working on cars from his home while attending MidAmerica Nazarene University. He enjoyed it so much he decided to open his own repair shop after he graduated. He knew the importance of providing high quality, honest repairs and felt the Olathe area was the right place to start. That was 20 years ago. Today Bret's Autoworks has grown to a location in Gardner, KS both locations have certified master technicians and experienced service providers. Bret no longer makes the repairs himself, but he does continue to direct and advise, instilling Christian values in all we do. Honesty, personal integrity and faith are all key to everything that goes on at Bret's Autoworks.

Our recent giveaway, Wheels 2 Hope, followed this same path. A member of our Journey Bible Church community introduced us to Noah Bartlett. He is a hard worker, trying to put together funds to cover his spring enrollment at WSU in their Machining Technology Program. Noah had put quite a bit of money into his vehicle and could not afford the latest repair, which meant he could not make it to work! Journey Bible Church reached out to see if we could help Noah. We had a car that would get Noah back and forth to work and Wichita in the Spring! Thanks to NAPA for covering all the parts, and to our technicians for their labor. Bret Tredway began working on cars from his home while attending MidAmerica Nazarene University. He enjoyed it so much he decided to open his own repair shop in 1987 after he graduated. He knew the importance of providing high quality, honest repairs and felt the Olathe area was the right place to start. Bret continued to grow his auto repair business on his quality workmanship and customer service and decided to take on a partner in 2001. Shawn Fischer also attended MidAmerica Nazarene University studying Accounting and Business Administration but also worked his way through college in an automotive shop. Bret continued on as a mentor and partner until 2008 when he decided to take on other adventures.

Shawn has continued to operate Bret's with the same integrity, quality, and service its customers are used to. Shawn now has a new business partner, Dave Culver. Dave comes with a background of automotive repair. You can find Dave serving as a Service Advisor ready to help our customers. Shawn is still behind the scenes taking care of the administrative part of the business. Their commitment to excellence is what keeps our customer base, our business, and our exceptional services expanding. We also strive to instill Christian values in all we do. Honesty, personal integrity, and faith are all key to everything that goes on at Bret’s Autoworks.

Today, Bret’s Autoworks has grown to a staff of 5 technicians and 3 service advisors. We have 3 full-time ASE certified master technicians, one apprentice technician, and 1 full-time lube technician. The team of experts at Bret’s Autoworks has been recognized throughout the industry for their superior skills and service. We hire the best technicians, in order to fix your car right the first time.
