This past weekend, my Dad took his Pandatuned 2004 Mustang GT out to play at the local NRSCCA Autocross.

Jump on board for his fastest run of the weekend, good enough for second place in his class CAMT.

Another Classic vehicle made its way onto the Panda Motorworks dyno, this time a 1961 Chevrolet Corvette.

This classic Corvette is powered by a 355ci small-block, We added a Holley Sniper 4150 EFI system and Hydraspark Ignition, bringing modern electronic fuel injection and ignition control to a classic combination.

After getting the Corvette tuned on the dyno, the 355 put down 284whp and 328wtq.

While the horsepower number may look low compared to the modern turbocharged cars we typically see on the dyno, this is a completely different type of build. The focus here was getting the classic small-block and Holley EFI system working together properly and delivering a smooth, responsive powerband.

It's always fun to see something different on the Panda dyno, and this '61 Corvette was a great change of pace from the modern performance cars and trucks we normally work with.

Whether you're tuning a brand-new turbocharged platform or a classic small-block Chevy, proper calibration can make a huge difference in how the vehicle performs and drives.

Another Maverick made its way onto the Panda Motorworks dyno, this time with a 2025 Ford Maverick Tremor in for some 93-octane tuning.

This Maverick came in with a solid list of supporting modifications.
*Panda RTD with Custom 93 Tune
*Thermal R&D Catback
*K&N Drop-In Filter
*GFB VTA BOV
*Ford Performance / Mishimoto Intercooler.

Before tuning, the Maverick put down 217whp and 253wtq on our Dynojet 224x.

After dialing in the Panda Custom 93 Tune, we brought the numbers up to 242whp and 341wtq.

That's a Peak gain of 25whp and 88wtq at the wheels. With larger gains throughout the curve

The torque increase is especially impressive, with 88 lb-ft of additional peak torque compared to the stock calibration. That extra torque translates into stronger acceleration, better throttle response, and a much more responsive truck overall.

One thing to note with these numbers: this Maverick was tested on the larger-than-stock LT245/70R17 off-road tires, which will show lower dyno numbers compared to a vehicle running a street tire. Because of that, the absolute numbers shouldn't be directly compared to a Maverick tested on a different tire setup, but the before-and-after gains on the same vehicle provide a great look at what the Panda tune adds. The stock numbers were also with the parts installed, so it's making great numbers on the stock calibration from the flow increase and cooling.

This is another great example of how a custom calibration can take advantage of supporting modifications and unlock significantly more performance from your Maverick.

Just had another Mazdaspeed 3 on the Panda Motorworks dyno for some 93-octane tuning.

This 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 came in with a list of upgrades, including a PandaBuilt Short Block, HPFP internals, COBB Front-Mount Intercooler, HKS BOV, CorkSport Intake with a 68mm MAF Housing, CorkSport CTS4 Turbo, 3 Port boost controller, 3.5 Bar MAP Sensor, and a full turbo-back exhaust system.

After dialing in the Panda 93 Tune, the car put down 291 whp and 289 wtq on our Dynojet 224x.

The setup was ultimately limited by the MAF housing, so there is still more potential left on the table if the customer decides to upgrade the intake. This Mazdaspeed 3 has a solid foundation for more power down the road.

Another week and more cars on the Panda Motorworks dyno with two very different platforms and great results from both!

2017 Ford Focus ST

This Focus ST came in equipped with a solid list of supporting modifications, including:

COBB Accessport V3
Mountune Cat-Back Exhaust
Mountune Intercooler
Mountune Cold Air Intake
Mountune Intake Manifold
Garrett PowerMax Turbo

We started with a wastegate spring pull, where the car made 159whp and 163wtq. From there, we moved on to our different tune slots.
Map Slot 2 257whp / 294wtq
Map Slot 3 269whp / 357wtq

The torque gains on this setup are impressive, giving the car a much stronger mid-range and making it far more responsive on the street. The factory downpipe became the limiting factor at this power level, so there's still more potential left in this combination with additional supporting modifications.

2016 Honda Accord V6

Next up was a naturally aspirated platform that's often overlooked when it comes to tuning.

This Accord came in with an intake, full exhaust, and KTuner. Before calibration, it produced 239whp and 217wtq.

After dialing in our Panda 93 Tune, final numbers came in at 250whp and 226wtq. (+11HP / +9TQ) with a much cleaner graph

While the peak gains may not be as dramatic as a turbocharged application, the improvements in throttle response, power delivery, and overall drivability make the car much more enjoyable to drive every day. It's a great example of how proper calibration can maximize the performance of existing bolt-on modifications.

Whether you're driving a turbocharged hot hatch or a naturally aspirated daily driver, a custom tune ensures your modifications are working together to deliver the best possible performance.
