Good morning,

It's gray and wet out there today; one might almost say a dark and stormy night, but it's not even noon.

Fortunately, I'm indoors, and so are most of my machines. Tractors, mowers, snowblowers, they all made it inside before the rain hit. It'll keep them out of the snow, and in a warm showroom where you can browse these machines in comfort. This is normal as we come into the winter months, especially given our small lot size, but it really does make things look a little empty around here. Pair this with a newly torn up sidewalk, and I wouldn't fault someone for thinking we're turning our lights off.

That is not the case, however. We have plenty on display indoors, and we have the strength of the Maine Tractor Company network behind us. Need an NS; an RX maybe? Or just something you're not seeing here? We can pull inventory from out sister locations, and order anything they don't have on site.

So, yeah, it's gloomy out there- but things are happening indoors.

It's nice out this evening, isn't it? It's fairly warm, the sun is shining, really who could ask for better weather?

Enjoy it while it lasts, because soon winter is going to be upon us.

Good afternoon,

You know, there is something satisfying about driving a tractor over carpet. The tractor may be small, and the carpet may be commercial, but it still carries a feeling like I'm getting away with something.

If you'd like to experience this sensation I can get you into the easy to operate CS2230 for under $17k, plus tax. Now from there it will be your responsibility to provide the carpet, and to get the machine in-doors. I also am not liable for any conflict that may arise from you bringing your tractor indoors, as I presume you are an adult capable of making your own decisions.

Or maybe you're looking to do something a little more traditional with your KIOTI Tractor, like move some snow. Well, that's fine too, we can get you all set up for winter weather! A snow blower? Maybe a snow pusher? A bulk material bucket? Or how about a plow blade, manual or hydraulic. Whatever flavor you're looking for, we can help you get your path clear.

Good afternoon,

There is a problem with this photo, can you spot it? It's not necessarily my skills as a photographer, though I am not here to defend those.

Have you figured it out?

That tractor, a KIOTI Tractor CS2530HB, is equipped with a set of pallet forks rated to lift 4,400 pounds. Those are some heavy forks, weighing between 300 and 400 pounds, attached to a tractor with a lift capacity of 870 pounds at the pin. With these improperly sized forks you're basically cutting your usable filt capacity in half before you've started.

A proper set of forks sized for a subcompact tractor will be rated for about 1,200 pounds, and will weigh under 200 pounds. That is a very big difference.

I used forks here just to instill the importance of using properly sized attachments and implements for your machine, because at best the wrong implement will be frustrating, but worse, it could be dangerous. This can be with regards to physical size, as with the forks, or it could apply to your PTO horsepower. If you've got a 60" bush hog attached to a machine providing under 20 PTO horsepower, and you've got thick brush or hills, you're likely to not be satisfied with the performance.

If you need an implement for your existing machine, or you're looking to buy a new tractor and want to make sure you're getting the right attachments, your local MTC location will have knowledgeable sales staff capable of guiding you in the right direction.

Evening folks,

It's autumn now, no one is really thinking of a new mower for next spring, but maybe they ought to be?

This 2025 John Deere X580 garden tractor is basically new with a whopping 15 hours on her! Hydraulic power deck lift, power steering, a 54 inch AccelDeep mowing deck, a 24 horsepower Kawasaki twin-cylinder, and that overstuffed seat. You can take this home for $8,500 plus tax; this machine was $10k+ from it's original seller.

An X580 is a lifetime machine with proper maintenance. The transaxle is a TuffTorq K72 with a replaceable filter, meaning it has a long service life.

This isn't just a lawnmower, it's the finest garden tractor you can purchase without a driveshaft.
