Such a tragic loss today. I was honored to have this amazing man as an instructor as I entered the fire service. He was a man I looked up to, turned to for advice & asked for that little extra help preparing for my final exam to become a certified firefighter. He was a part of the great crew who made me the firefighter I became. I didn't see him often, but when I did, he always remembered me. Thank you Bryan, you will never be forgotten. Rest in piece my friend.

We know it's been some time since we've updated everyone on our projects and happenings at the shop; but we've been being kept busy. We thought, with today being our 1 year anniversary, we'd take a few minutes to give a much overdue update. We've been doing annual pump tests, routine maintenances & assisting with development of proper preventative maintenance plans for apparatus longevity, engine overhauls, hovercraft diagnostics, fire damage work, aerial cylinder work, fabricating heat pans & fuel tanks, and working with departments on possibly 3 truck refurbishments. We thank all of the departments who have entrusted their apparatus to us for helping us make it to our 1 year anniversary; we look forward to coming to work every day. Each day brings something new, exciting, and always a great group of fire & police personnel.

Without the help of the Michigan SBDC, specifically Jamaal Ewing, we wouldn't be where we are today. We look forward to...

Without the help of the Michigan SBDC, specifically Jamaal Ewing, we wouldn't be where we are today. We look forward to coming into work every day and working with all the amazing people in our local fire, police and EMS stations. For anyone thinking of wanting to make their dream come true with their own business, the Michigan SBDC should be the first stop for the guidance and advice of these down to earth experts. They helped us turn our notes into a business plan which turned into an SBA loan.

What an amazing honor to be a part of celebrating an amazing member of the fire fighting community. On a personal note from Dave:

It was an immense honor to be a part of the Shields of Hope event that honored Charlie. Emotional was an understatement seeing the public safety community come together to honor a very important person to us. We all laughed over some good memories & shared tears while we prayed over Charlie & his cancer battle.

As a young firefighter, I took several classes with Charlie as an instructor. He helped shape me into the firefighter I became, & ultimately helped lead my love for the fire service, which helped guide me to where I am today. Although I can’t actively be a firefighter right now, I’m still able to work with the same great people, and still work on the fire trucks to help them to be ready whenever the call comes in.

Charlie is one of those irreplaceable fire service leaders. His knowledge of the service never failed to amaze me. His passion to teach the next generation of firefighters, along with updating current firefighters was second to none. He always kept a smile on his face & kept pushing for the best in every person he met & worked with.

I’m asking for everyone to send all your thoughts & prayers to Charlie along with his family as his battle goes on.
