Congratulations Richard Yarde and thank you for your service and for all the help you have given back to other Veterans. Semper Fi on your retirement! 🇺🇸

Chief Craig Bailey and Deputy Chief Lauren Blatchford had the pleasure of attending the retirement send-off for Richard Yarde, who worked for the Veteran Services Offices for the City of Amesbury.

Richard Yarde started working in the Veteran Services Office as an Office Assistant in April 2012 and moved to Amesbury in 2016.

Besides working in the Veteran Services Office, Richard has also served as the primary Veterans contact for Veterans living in Amesbury Public Housing.

Richard also maintains the flagpole at the Amesbury Towers where he lives and he also conducts ceremonies for residents of the Towers on Memorial Day, Veterans Day and other patriotic events.

Prior to joining the Veteran Services Department, Richard served as the House Manager at the Veterans Mansion in Haverhill Massachusetts from 1997 - 2016.

Richard is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps where he served in combat during the Vietnam War.

For the last almost 30 years Richard has assisted and encouraged hundreds, if not thousands, of Veterans in obtaining disability compensation, housing, medical care and other Veteran benefits.

Thank you Richard for your contributions to the well being of Veterans, especially Amesbury's Veterans, and congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! 🇺🇸
