Warrior Writers NYC

Warrior Writers NYC Our mission is to create a culture that articulates veterans’ experiences, build a collaborative community for artistic expression, and bear witness to war

There are hundreds of thousands of veterans living among us. Though we interact with them in everyday life, many civilians are unaware of the ways in which servicemen and women are suffering and how difficult it is to adapt to being home again. While many walk in silence, some veterans choose to bear witness to their struggles and experiences through art. For those ready to tell, Warrior Writers p

rovides a platform to develop and present their voices. Warrior Writers helps veterans in their return to civilian life by providing a supportive community that recognizes their experiences and creativity. We support veterans and civilians in expanding their perspectives on identity, society, and culture. Our public performances and exhibitions raise consciousness and expand beliefs about war, soldiers, veterans and posttraumatic stress disorder. We believe profound hope comes with the realization of each person’s innate ability to rebuild and transform.
