May not seem like a big thing, but this is a big deal for me (Ben). My very first fully custom race suit!

I worked with Accelo Racewear via Graphic Creations to get this full custom "qualifier" suit made for us! Looks fantastic and packed with cool features at a crazy good price!

There is definitely steps to the off-season.

Step 1: Disassemble
Step 2: Inspect
Step 3: Diagnose/plan
Step 4: Schedule
Step 5: Budget
Step 6: Upgrade and repair
Step 7: Reassemble and finalize
Step 8: Race.

I've almost completed steps 1-3 on the car which means time to start making and talking a temporary season Schedule!

I want to hear from all of you; Where, when and with who should we race in 2027?!?!,

Few rules and things to keep it mind;
We do not have an unlimited budget or free time so traveling any further than say Mass. Or Vermont would take a lot of outside help and planning and traveling to Canada is just not possible.

My car is legal for all touring series and tracks for prostock/ pro late/ slm in New England at the moment unless any do a serious odd ball change.

Our car is not ACT or LMSC legal.

I cannot and will not race EVERY week. I love racing but that is just to much to ask of my small crew. 10-15 race a year is a fun number imho

Big races would require HUGE financial help from sponsors, so unless we can find 10-20,000 in sponsors, it may not happen.

Let me know folks! And make sure to follow here and Downeast Chassisworx for all my racing and setup updates!

Hey yall. Ben here. Wanted to let yall know that we as a team have decided to end our 2026 season. This decision is a product of multiple factors.

With not a lot of time available to get the car ready and finding more and more issues, it just isnt logical to go spend well over $3000 to struggle and possibly destroy the car. That just doesn't equate to fun in my eyes when I have a tight work schedule, projects that have to be done before winter (including the shop), and a lot of unknowns on the horizon.

Don't fret, the car nor I am going anywhere! We'll be back for the 2027 race season with fire in our bellys.

Thanks to my sponsors, teams, fans, and supporters for everything this year and we are very much looking forward to next year.

For now, Sasquatch out!

10/01/2026

For immediate release!

Due to high work volume, level of work needed on the car, available man hours, and lack of sleep from effort, we regret to inform our followers we will not be making the Stan Meserve Classic 128 on October 1st.

This decision was not made lightly, but it just isn't possible to get the car ready at the level it needs to be, have ample sleep time, and make a practice day before hand. We're sorry to our fans, family, and sponsors for this decision but we feel its the best decision.

We still plan to race the BHBT 200 weekend Oct. 9-11. Stay tuned folks!

This isnt a plea, a cry for help, or anything of the sort. Just informational if nothing else.

The next two weeks of racing for the team and I are going to be super hard on finances. As most family teams, local drivers, budget racers, and the like know; racing isn't cheap and times are tough.

Basically, a very general break down for the next two (and our last two for the season) races in the 128 and 200 a BHBT Speedway with GSPSS is:

12 (4 for 128, 8 for 200) race tires with 4 coming out to $949.50

$30 a pit pass and we usually have anywhere from 6-9 crew members for 2 race days, a qualifying day, and 2 practice days

Race fuel at a minimum of $15/g but I believe its a tick more. Roughly 9 laps per gallon so 36 1/2 gallons of fuel just for the races, let alone practice and qualifying

Fuel to travel 1 1/2 hours one way with the trailer twice and to use in the generator

An already paid but still adding to the equation $50 and $100 entry fee for just the car

1 oil change on the race car at roughly $140

Food which is basically incalculable but wouldnt be hard to guess atleast $250 between all the days

And lord help us if we break something.

Just in race tires and race (only the main races) fuel alone were $3700 into the weekend.

With that being said, I have some of the best sponsors and support out there. Cannot thank them enough for everything.

DTB Transport LLC
SKS Furbush Logging LLC (Wes Furbush)
DADS Firewood
Graphic Creations
Marshall's Automotive Machine Inc

Shorter list than normal? Well, I'll kind of break it down a little but in no way is it diminishing what any of these companys have done for me. These five above are 100% true honest sponsors.
DTB and DADS are our family businesses that support my life dream by choice, not just because.

SKS was a HUGE support in having us run the Boss Hog 150 with a great sponsorship that we will cherish and continue hopefully for a long time.

Graphic Creations is very very good friends of mine and while charging me very very fairly, have really helped me out and given me great deals on my vinyl and I CANNOT understand how much that means.

Marshalls did my engine refreshes this year. The quick turn arounds, constant calls and questions from me, and less than stellar time tables did not deter them from giving me two badass power plants under the hood at amazing pricing. Without them, my program literally would not move.

UNOH is both my graduating college and where my current employment resides. The experience I earned there, the support my instructors and now coworkers give me, and the access to the equipment available there makes them one of the best partnerships I could ask for.

Downeast Chassisworx is my own brand that I'm just starting out with and hoping to grow into something someday

Port City Racecars is my MFG of choice. I've worked with their chassis for quite a few years and I feel they are the most easily accessible parts and chassis there are. PCR has also been a huge help in just chatting from time to time and getting access to parts and part numbers I just cannot find on my own.

HSR was and is my go to for advice. They took me in under their wing, updated my car, and really got my feet off the ground when we came back into the racing world. They are awesome guys and I will always be thankful to and for them.

DMD Racing has been a badass at getting me parts since day 1 when I started building the first late model. No matter what it was, or where I was, or what time, he answers and helps me out. Absolutely legendary in that.

Nitro Trailers has been a supporter since all the way back in my childhood racing the Maine Mods. Awesome trailers and people, plus one of the biggest supporters of racing in New England, period.

Magnus Performance, Five Star Bodies, Joes Racing Products, InnovEight Printed Products, Simpson, Wehrs, Sparco, Fuel Safe, Schaeffer's, Daytona1, etc are all brands I run, support, and trust. To me, these are some of, if not the best brands for motorsports there are. You want be racing, these are the parts you want.

With all that said, I, Ben Nile am asking for your support for these final two races. Now I'm not asking for money. Not even two cents.

What I am asking for is support in the form of sharing my posts. The form of a good luck message. Cheering me on from the stands or home watching race monitor. Coming over and congratulating the team on a great effort. Thats what I'm asking.

If you wish to support us financially, that is 100% up to you. We would absolutely cherish it and it all goes right into the car. With it being a super short time frame, any support from individuals I'd have you literally sign the car with a sharpie. From businesses, if you could provide a sticker for us, I promise it'll be on the car the day the sticker touches my hands. Nothing is to small to help out.

My fans, friends, and family are the best there are and I love you all! See yall at the track Oct. 3rd for the Stan Meserve Classic 128 and October 9-11 for the BHBT 200 weekend!

Alrighty folks. Here it was. Our Prostock/pro late model debut. Our inaugural Boss Hog 150 attempt.

Friday, we got the car on track for its first laps with wide rubber and the new badass power plant courtesy of Marshall's Automotive Machine Inc to get it shook down and approval of track staff to participate. We passed with flying colors and were very quickly turning competitive lap times. A couple minor handling issues in our 5 runs but nothing serious. My anxiety Friday night was killing me know there was work to be done to the car whilst I was camping within walking distance of our speedway garage. So I didn't sleep and work on the car all night into the start of Saturday's practice session.

Saturday we got 3 more sessions to help figure the car out. Had a couple gremlins pop up but continued to improve the car every time we hit the track.

Sunday started off with finding we had lost a piece of lead off the car at the start of Friday. A mad dash to get a new piece in and through tech whilst also getting our race tires out of impound ensued.

First practice the car was even better but just ever so lacking. Second we put on a new set of practice tires and made a couple adjustments and finally got the car doing what we had been hunting for all weekend. Third practice we scuffed our race tires and did 2 runs with a couple adjustments. Was the best it had been all weekend and the leaderboard showed that. Unfortunately, our problems continued as the exhaust came apart during the run and our LR tire started to delaminate in a matter of 12 laps. Thankfully we were able to exchange it so as not to have a dangerous situation come race time.

We drew heat 1 p2. Rolling onto the track it began to sprinkle. We crossed them up and went green for 1 laps before the sky opened up and the caution flew. The track was wet enough I lost control under yellow and spun. Thankfully the officials agreed it was a circumstance out of my or anyone else's control and gave us our position back. After track drying, we took back to the speedway. Opening couple of laps we battled for the lead before contact with third allowed a gap. We would end up closing the gap before the checkers flew, ending up 2nd. This would put us starting p4 within the redraw for the 150.

With the threat of weather, the race program would be pushed up to not have a redraw. We rolled off p4. The initial green we cleared for p3 and tried to settle in to a rhythm. 10 laps in a caution came out with us feeling loose, but confident. The next restart is when the rails started to come out from under us.

The leader on the restart went into save mode and my car decided it no longer wanted to hook up the rear tires. We fell to just barely within the top 10 when a caution came at lap 28. We pitted for an adjustment to help the ailing loose condition the car had developed. Coming out at the tail of the field, the condition got worse and worse, leading to me spinning on my own out of turn 2 bring out another caution. Another pit stop to check for any damage or issues had us end up a lap down but we figured to atleast continue to get seat time. The condition of the car continued to worsen.

Inside the car, the conditions were even worse as the exhaust had fallen apart at a different point and began to fill the cockpit with fumes for the remaining laps. Just under 100 laps into the race, whilst going another lap down, we decided to call it a day. We were starting to become a hazard not only to our own cars health but the other competitors. Unbeknownst to crew and I alike, the fumes had started to really effect me to the point that I was not driving like I had for 3 days. After parking the car, the symptoms took hold and was evident it was not a good situation.

My crew had to undo my helmet, hold the water bottle for me to drink, undo the my belts, and pick me up out of the car as I physically could not function or think. At that time, EMTs came to my side and administered aid with ice pack, oxygen, electrolytes. My blood pressure was low enough they were surprised I was still conscious and my oxygen levels were severely low.

After about 20-25 minutes of oxygen, fluids, rest and ice packs, my numbers returned to normal and I was able to stand and compose myself.

Post race, day after infact, we were able to diagnose the issues on the car and already at work of repairing it for competition at Wiscasset Speedway for group 1 finale night in 2 weeks.

I know Facebook is weird so if you're not tagged in the post itself, I will tag you in the comments afterwards.

To start gotta thank mom and dad for being apart of this with me and helping me reach my dream since I was a little kid to race these cars. Love you guys.

Thank you the my lovely girl Charley for supporting me in this adventure. Im so sorry for the scare but I promised I would come back to you in one piece and here I am.

Thank you to Dave Gray for being a badass all weekend as crew chief and spotter. Your knowledge and expertise as more valuable than anything and we worked well together to get this hunk of steel working.

Ross Harlow, Aiden Erskine, Ben Erskine, Alan Thibodeau, you guys were Rockstars all weekend. Didnt matter what it was you were right in there getting it done. Anything yall need, never hesitate to ask. I couldn't ask for a better group of helpers.

About 20 family members and family friends came down to watch and I was amazed at that turn out! Thank you all so much for the support! It means a lot to me.

Chad Dow at Nitro Trailers, thank you for sponsoring the event and the goody bags for all drivers. That is something not many businesses let alone people/competitors would do. Also gotta thank you for welding up my radiator last week. That was such a huge help to my weekend.

And of course all the amazing sponsors and supporting businesses on the 72n!

Had a bad fast Downeast Chassisworx chevy. Won our heat. Lead majority of feature. Turned laps 2 tenths faster than any one else in the field, and another 2 tenths to the rest of the field. Fancy footwork and hand work in between to not have a totalled chassis. Rebound to finish 5th and needing some new body panels.

Gotta thank my sponsors and fans for coming out and cheering me on. I hope you all know it is my sincerest thanks and heart to yall for your support through thick and thin.

Unfortunately, this is the start of my 2026 season hiatus. I am unsure of when I will return to racing this season but yall will be first to know!

Thank you Wiscasset Speedway LLC for an amazing 4th of July race day and I'll be back at some point for more of Maine's biggest and fastest oval!
