Recently completed front-end repairs on an 18 Ford F350, which arrived with a loose front end. Inspection revealed faulty ball joints and tie rods, along with uneven front tire wear. We successfully ordered and installed the necessary components, and the front end is now secure and properly aligned, ready to return to service. It wasn’t built for the highway—and that’s exactly what made it stand out. Among the polished classics at this year’s ATHS National Convention, one of the most talked-about vehicles was a 1962 KW-Dart Prime Mover: a massive off-highway hauler designed for the demanding demands of mining and heavy industry.

Dart Truck Company, based in Cansa, Minnesota, specialized in off-road haul trucks for construction and mining. In the 1960s, Kenworth—already part of the PACCAR family—acquired Dart and began producing co-branded KW-Dart trucks. The result: a purpose-built beast that fused Kenworth’s diesel engineering with Dart’s off-highway expertise.

This big boy shares its DNA with the 13 KW-Dart units delivered to Kaiser Steel’s Eagle Mountain Iron Mine, where each tractor-trailer combo hauled 100-ton loads of iron ore. Powered by a 700 hp V‑12 Cummins diesel and tipping the scales at over 126,000 pounds, Prime Mover helped define an era of ultra-heavy, off-road transport.

These monster machines were serious steel built for serious work—a bold reminder that trucking history doesn’t always follow the pavement.

This Wednesday morning, we received a call from a customer experiencing difficulties with their Freightliner, which was unable to build more than 14psi of air. Upon further inspection, it became apparent that the governor had not been properly adjusted. We rectified this issue by readjusting the governor, and the vehicle is now running smoothly at 130psi. A satisfied customer on this lovely Sunday! A customer contacted us regarding grinding brakes on their 2017 Ford F150. We visited the site and replaced the front pads as requested. Further inspection revealed the need for new slides and a caliper bracket replacement on one side. Overall, the customer is delighted with the service. We started this steering gear box on a 2005 chevy duramax for a very good customer of ours. Transmission cooler lines today started on this 2018 Chevy 3500 duramax 6.6L Diesel. Truck had a leak, so we climbed under and took a look come to find out the transmission cooler lines had rotted and cracked leaking a good amount of transmission fluid everywhere.
