1:30am the call comes in and the radio is going off. Getting the words out to me that “this is serious, I gotta go quick.”
Brush teeth. Throw work clothes on. Saying love yous quick to everyone. Throw the boots on and the strings are hanging out because there’s no time to tie them up. Jump in the truck just to jump in another truck.
All while trying to get the thoughts together of what is known to be a “serious” call. Getting another call to hurry. Mind racing and adrenaline pumping. Barely remembering the drive there but thanking God he got you there safe so you can help others and get back to your family.
Getting there and realizing so much when you look at the scene and their mind racing even more. Then go mode sets in and praying that everything works out and everyone will be okay. Let’s not forget the minimal sleep becase another call was just finished up. And let’s not forget the things that have to be done after they are done with a call that just wore them completely out.
Moral of this post- You will never convince me that they are not a first responder because… YES, they are! THEY MATTER, too. They may not be an EMT or can do doctor things but they are important. They save lives, too! They see things and they remember things, too!
Thank a person in the Towing & Recovery industry! ♥️🙏🏼 These guys chose this lifestyle to help you.
