There are a LOT of people who deserve a thank you for helping us get this boat back where she belongs.
What started as a boat purchase turned into a much bigger project than we ever expected. There were engines to find, engines to move, rigging to redo, parts to track down, problems to solve, and a whole lot of figuring things out along the way. We absolutely could not have done it without the people who showed up, pitched in, shared their knowledge, turned wrenches, brought parts, moved engines, tested props, brought pizza, and kept us going through all of it.
Ross Terwilliger — we couldn’t have even begun this process without you. You were there from the very beginning and played such a huge part in getting this whole thing moving. Came to check it out, talked us off the ledge when things took a turn, and you always step up for us when we need it most.
Nick Calise — First you brought us to Montauk to check her out, then you spent your ENTIRE week by our side, including giving up what could have been a perfect boating weekend, helping in more ways than I could possibly keep track of. We truly can’t thank you enough.
Joe Mitchell — thank you for the ride to pick her up, all the help getting her back up and running, and especially for helping us figure out the absolute steering nightmare.
Justin Crandall — thank you for stopping by and jumping in to help.
Tony Todisco— thank you for helping with the build, the endless advice, and for always having another idea when we needed one.
Alex Duback— thank you for coming to help and getting your hands dirty with us.
Don Sergent, Steve Karlson, Chase Rowe & Cliff Smith at Fort Rachel Marina — thank you for the help, knowledge, parts, equipment, and support throughout this entire process. Having you guys in our corner made a HUGE difference.
Jake Wiseman— thank you for showing up with pizza and helping keep everyone fed and moving.
Sam Friedman — thank you for the help and the crane work that made some of the biggest parts of this project possible.
Sam McQuiggan — thank you for spending an entire day there helping us get things done.
Craig Stanek — thank you for the stereo equipment, support, and always helping us get what we needed. We all know how much Wayne needs his music!

Chris Tallmadge — thank you for taking the time to come out on a test ride and test the props you brought for us. We really appreciate it.
Mike Sadler & Jay Douglas — thank you for letting us use transient spots so we had somewhere to keep the boat while we continued testing, troubleshooting, and working on her. Having a place to do all of that made a huge difference.
Matt Amaral at Gwenmore Marina — thank you for helping us out with those quick parts along the way. Sometimes it’s the little things that keep a project moving.
And to anyone we may have missed — there were so many people who helped along the way, and every single bit of it mattered.
I tagged who I could.
When it came time to name the boat, there really was only one name that made sense:
JOINT VENTURE.
Because while she may be our boat, getting her here was anything but a one-person job. This boat is the result of a whole lot of friends, family, knowledge, hard work, favors, late nights, phone calls, parts, tools, cranes, pizza… and people willing to show up and say, “What do you need?”
So Joint Venture felt pretty damn fitting.
Thank you to every single person who helped us get her back on the water.
We’re incredibly lucky to have this kind of crew behind us.
Now hopefully it’s time for a LOT more boating and a lot less fixing.
