Here, at Blackline Racing, we pride ourselves in building the highest quality air cooled engines that money can buy. The McAllisters currently hold land speed records set on the Bonneville Salt Flats and are always ready to help other racers any way they can. The local VW community is also very important to all of us and we look forward to any sponsorship negotiations that come our way. Justin McA

llister, has honed and refined his skills since the age of 16. He got his start as the shop boy at BC Autoworks where he stayed as their engine builder for 4 1/2 years. After high school he went on to complete the 2 year automotive program and ASE Master Tech certifications at Weber State. Once he felt as though he had learned all he could at BC he went on to refine his air cooled skills at Air Cooled Engineering under Art Thraen. Art saw so much potential in Justin that they began talk of Justin buying the place not too long after he was hired. Justin worked under Art for 5 years before the deal was made, and Blackline Racing was born March 1, 2013! We were lucky enough to hold on to carburetor specialist Dave Hogarth, who rebuilt Air Cooled Engineering’s carburetors for the last 10 years, while Art shifted his focus to his HVAC business. Dave retired from carburetor restorations in the Fall of 2019 but will always be a part of the Blackline family. Shayla and Justin are grateful to have learned all they could from him and are proud to continue providing the same quality carburetor restorations you’ve all grown to depend upon.

We know many of you wait for the conditions update before registering for T&T so here ya go: things are looking better than last year at this point! 🤍 we need 50 PRE entries to be able to hold the event. You can roll over (in full) to World of Speed or request a refund (minus a small fee) if the event is cancelled.

Dennis Sullivan and Larry Volk were able to go out and do a quick assessment of the salt before the storms a hit. They are reporting that it is a LOT whiter than last season and all of the dirt has a small layer of salt 🧂 they were able to drive down courses 1 & 2 to the 4mile before it got too damp to continue and the courses are thin but should make for a race able track as long as Mother Nature keeps playing nice. Like last year, there is more salt accumulating towards the north end.
-Monday, Dennis is going back out to assess how things have faired after the rain.
-Dennis and Larry are planning on another trip out later in the month.
