In effort to improve our service to the community Weavers Service will look to provide posts on common and pattern failures we see on some of the more popular vehicles we repair.

Our First Reference will be on the very popular Ford 3.5L Ecoboost. Used in 2011-16 Ford F150, 2015-23 Transit Vans. One very common issue is leaking exhaust manifolds at the engine. The original design did not utilize all available stud locations leading to warping and leaking manifolds and broken bolts.
This can be addressed by extracting the broken bolts, and updating to a newer style manifold, Ford has released manifolds with more bolt holes and BD Power has Upgraded Sets with Heavier walls and Higher Exhaust Flow.
When replacing the exhaust manifolds it is good practice to inspect and reseal the turbochargers.
