My new shop crane has got some good use recently. Powerhead gasket gave away on this 2001 Evinrude 115hp. Popped off the block, put down a new gasket, and now we are ready to go fish. If you ever touch salt water in your boat, I always recommend a 10min freshwater flush after you get out. This gasket had seen better days. I’m happy that I caught this leak as I was only called out to replace a water pump and thermostat.

Out with the old, in with the new. Gimbal bearing and bellows replacement on a Bravo One Mercruiser. Very important job to do. If you’re hearing a low grumbling noise coming from the engine compartment, it’s time to replace that bearing. If you have excessive water in your bilge and don’t know where it’s coming from, it’s time to do your bellows. Best to do them both at the same time while the drive is off while I’m already in there. This goes for (generally) all sterndrives. Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC Cobras etc.

Oil injection delete. A very good idea on any old 2 stroke jetski or outboard. At some point, either the oil pump fails, an oil line pops off, or the oil lines becomes brittle and crack, thus, leaving your engine running WIDE OPEN with no oil! Next you know, POP! You now have a new lawn decoration. We don’t like lawn decorations, we like our boats out on the water. Call me for some help with this issue.

Spring is in the air! And water? Finished up this 2019 Yamaha 242XE Jetboat right in time for the season. I installed the factory ballast pump systems, fixed up a misting system to stay cool on hot days, performed annual service on both engines, replaced a few speakers, a broken wash down hose, new steering cable and alignment, and a few other smaller items.
