Dale Smith just sent me this photo of his stud fee pup from our recent litter. I had this pup here for a few days and worked him. The pup has a trial placement also. This is him pointing pre release quail earlier this evening.

I need to go online and UKC register a dog. I have two names in mind, ‘Hillbilly Shakespeare’ or ‘Luke the Drifter’. Without google, who can tell me what those two names have in common?

I did it! I got an ‘emerging talent’ badge! I also have no idea what this means. lol

This dog is owned by a friend. He is a littermate to Clark that we have. His owner has two young dogs that are both field trial quality and he can only campaign one. So, this dog’s future is up for discussion. I think he will go quickly. Message me if interested and I will get you his info.

Results from yesterday’s field trial at Middlefork in Illinois.

Clark ran in the derby stake. He did not do well at all. It was very hot, the cover was very thick and green. He had never seen horses before. I would describe him as hot and confused. The cover was the same for everyone and it was hot for everyone. Some dogs figured it out. All dogs and people have bad days. I’m not too worried about it.

Johnny won the puppy stake. He ran hard and looked good. The puppy course had a 90 degree turn and some twists. He went the right way at every turn on his own.

Bonnie also was in the puppy stake. Her brace mate roughed her up a little bit right off of the break away. The brace mate was picked up, but the damage was done. She was scared to death and really didn’t do much. This was a learning experience for her. All people and dogs are going to get roughed up by life sooner or later. She needs to learn to get over it.

Dale Smith’s littermate to Johnny and Bonnie came in third. I have had Dale’s pup here working him for the last week. Dale has done a good job socializing and working with his pup.

Field trial tomorrow! I’m braced with my buddy, Mike Fox, in the derby. I’m taking two puppies also.
