We often are asked if we can insulate over coatings, and the answer is yes. However, we do blast the coating off of the ends where the insulation shield attaches to the parent metal. Also, due to Headershield having a much higher thermal retention, we have found there is no additional benefit to coating the system prior to our insulation. Just something to keep in mind if you are considering coating before our insulation.
