One of our retired Battalion Chiefs wife Kristi Bayless Groth and his daughter Alyssa Brianna participated in a walk for the red. BC growth passed away from pancreatic cancer. This walk is to raise to awareness to the rise of cancer amongst firefighters.

Firefighters and families made a 140-mile trek across Michigan, ending at the Cascade Township Fire Station, to back their brothers and sisters in red in a different fight.

25 years ago, 343 FDNY firefighters never came home.

Many more have died since — from the cancers and illnesses caused by the toxic dust they breathed working at Ground Zero. Those numbers keep rising.

Today we honor all of them, and every family who lost someone.

We will never forget.

All three crews participated in some search and rescue training. This is A shift doing some work. Due to the room being dark we used a FLIR to see them. Nice job everybody.
