Big problem Just found on a 2018 Malibu LS. Customer complaint was that her brake pedal was hard she thought it was related to her brake pads etc.

We checked and saw that she had no brake booster assist. Upon further inspection, found vaccum pump was not working. After removal found this…..

Vaccum pump catastrophically failed, it locked up and the camshaft destroyed it. Pieces of the pump went into the engine. Luckily the pieces haven’t caused engine failure yet.

Vehicle mileage is : 89594 mi.

So if this happens to you, your brake pedal gets hard as a brick. Since this vaccum pump is gear driven your car will not stall out so you will keep speeding up and have to slam your brake pedal to barely slow down and if any of those metal pieces could destroy your engine in the process.

Just remember keep calm…… shift your car into neutral and put heavy pressure on your brake pedal until you come into a complete stop.

Timing on a 5.4L Ford Engine. This customer had a rattling noise from the engine from cold starts. Luckily he came to the right place, we told him it was related to timing and exactly what he needed to replace, sure enough the timing guides were completely destroyed and the chain completely lose.
