We are headed to Merritt Speedway today! Racing begins at 8 due to the high temps! Hope to see you there!!!

It’s RACEDAY at Merritt Speedway!

Tonight is night one of our Independence Day Weekend Special, featuring the Joe Wood Memorial Factory Stock Special paying $2,000 to win. The Traditional and Lightning Sprints are back in action, and the 4–6 Cylinder division will compete under open rules for the evening.

Please note: Factory Stocks, 4–6 Cylinders, and Mini Wedges will be non-points events.

With high temperatures and humidity expected, we’re adjusting the schedule for everyone’s comfort and safety. Gates for both the pits and grandstands will open at 5:00 PM—please do not arrive early, as gates will remain locked until that time. Racing begins at 8:00 PM.

Last night, honestly, it was Chad's best night of racing in a long time.

He found his speed again.

In the heat race, he took off like a rocket and was charging hard until he spun out in turns 3 and 4. He got back out there and kept going, only to have an ignition switch fail. Even with the bad luck, he was having fun, and it was awesome to see that spark back in him.

The feature race started much the same way. Chad got right after it, passed some cars, and was showing the speed we've been waiting to see. Unfortunately, his steering box decided it had other plans and literally fell apart. Thankfully, he felt something under his foot and was able to get the car stopped before it turned into something much worse.

I know that doesn't sound like a successful night, but for us, it absolutely was. The results don't tell the whole story. Seeing Chad back out there, driving hard, giving it everything he had, and feeling good about racing again was incredible to watch.

The speed is back. The confidence is back. Now we just need a little better luck on our side.

The forecast couldn’t be any better for tomorrow night at Crystal Motor Speedway! Sunshine, warm temperatures, and a perfect evening to enjoy dirt track racing with family and friends.

Before the racing action begins, we will proudly induct our 4th class into the Crystal Motor Speedway Hall of Fame as we recognize some of the legends who helped build our great racing tradition.

Then it’s time to go racing! The Great Lakes Lightning Sprints join a full night of action brought to you by Burnips Equipment!

🍦 The ice cream freezer is stocked and ready.
🎯 The Carson City Lumber t-shirt cannon is loaded and ready to launch.

We also want to recognize the hard work that has gone into our race surface this week. As many of you know, we recently made a change to our track prep team. We would like to thank Rod Wiles and his crew for the tremendous amount of time and effort they’ve invested in making significant improvements to the racing surface. We believe these changes will help us provide a consistently excellent track for our race teams and fans each and every week.

Going into Crystal Motor Speedway - Crystal, MI next weekend we look to have some more fun like this. This is probably my favorite heat race of my career. I didn't win. But, ripping the top side was a blast! I learned a ton from this particular race. Now, we can't wait to take the "Daleford" out to Crystal for the first time. If we can have fun like this....it will be a game changer for our season!
