TEAM LUJAN FTW 💪🏼
We had a great weekend at NMRA/NMCA North Carolina. A huge shoutout to all of Team Lujan especially Gaby, Luis, and Gil. Thank you to UPR Products, Vortech Superchargers, Flow Tech Inductions, Baer Brakes, Suncoast Performance, and NMRA.
Yesterday, I competed in Torqstorm Superchargers True Street. After the 30 mile cruise, I ran 3 back to back passes. 8.55, 8.57, 8.89 and averaged 8.67 which was enough to be the overall winner. Team Lujan racer Gil with his ‘86 coyote swapped Whipple charged fox came out with the 10.0 average win.
As for Suncoast’s 8.60 Street Race class, I qualified #1 and Luis qualified #3 with his ‘91 GT. After 3 rounds of eliminations today, I was able to bring home the win. See y’all in Ohio.

I would like to thank Tom Bailey and everyone who played a part in executing such an amazing event in such a short amount of time. Sick Week is the first drag and drive event that I run my car and it is definitely not the last. I am incredibly grateful for Team Lujan. We were able to take 4 cars to the event. Although I did experience some problems with my car (issues with the fans, a couple of broken rockers, and issues with the fuel pumps), with the help of my team and Larry Albright, I was able to fix it and continue racing. Both Alex and I were able to win first place in our classes (Alex in Sick Street Race and I in 275 Street Race).
We are definitely looking forward to next year and we hope to have more Team Lujan cars representing!

Despite the few (or many 😅) setbacks we had yesterday and today, we were able to make 2 passes. I let off on my first pass but I was able to run 8.524 on my second pass. We are off to SGMP.

WOW!!! Team UPR Racer Willie Lujan Won True Street Overall on Saturday and Won the heads up 8.60 Class on Sunday at NMRA/NMCA North Carolina! Scoring Two Wins at one event in a street driven Mustang is an amazing accomplishment. It demonstrates that not only is Willie a great driver, but he does great work at Lujan Motorsports in Miami.
