PSA**** I just found out something interesting. Did you know that when calling your insurance company for roadside assistance, you are actually making a claim against your insurance? I didn't know that. I just had a customer tell me that when he asked his insurance company if this would be a claim on his insurance, they said Of course. He then asked if this would affect his rates when it is time for renewal, and of course, he was not happy with the response he got. For every roadside service request, you are making a claim, and it could cause your rates to go up when it's time for your renewal. Now I know some insurance companies allow a certain number of roadside service requests before they bill you a service call fee. Some fees can range from $50 to $99. I had a customer get upset with me the other day because she thought I had charged $99 for me to come out, and she requested an invoice for that amount. I had to explain to her that she did not pay my company anything, and she needed to request her invoice/ receipt from her insurance company that she paid. BE SURE TO CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY AND ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE A LIMIT OF ROADSIDE SERVICE REQUESTS BEFORE HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. If you have to pay out of pocket, just know there are companies out there that will sometimes be lower than what you will pay your insurance company for someone to show up.
