Mrs. Mac's Towing & Transports History
"When you are in a mess request the best!" Mrs. Mac's has been in business serving the Northland and the surrounding area since 1960. Mac and his sons opened their doors as a full shop, auto recycling yard, and towing company. Mr. Mac worked for many years in the yard and the shop. His son Ray, "Pokey", worked alongside him doing the towing and body work up until Mr. Mac died in the 80's. From that point, "Pokey" ran it with his wife and kids. In 1998, he had to close the towing and body shop due to mounting expenses, but he kept the auto recycling going. Now, in November, 2010, his son Zak took over and reopened Mrs. Mac's Towing & Transport. Now, we strive to have nothing but high training and damage-free towing on any vehicle whether it be a car rolled 20 feet, or a 1955 Bel Air show car. All of our tows get the white glove care. DISCOUNTS!!! If you're an active member of a Fire Department, Police Department (State, County, or Local) with I.D. or Proof. If you're a Veteran or Active member of a service branch (with I.D. or Proof). All discounts are authorized by Zak only and "proof" is to be deemed eligible by him only.

Today we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can be free.
Another awesome job by our local PD and Deputies.
The suspect wanted in connection with a Grand Rapids shooting has been arrested. Police say Charles Anthony Olson was arrested during a traffic stop.

Cedar Lake Speedway sees serious accident. Fan reports indicate terrible news from the Wisconsin dirt track as safety workers tended to a bus crash.
Fishing opener is this weekend! The governor limited travel but as an essential business we will be open and be able to go anywhere you need us. If you have any issues give our team of trained professionals a call.
Good Luck! Share with us your catch in the comments.
Well, due to the latest extension of the stay at home order implemented by Governor Walz, combined with the future uncertainty of all local, state, and federal regulations, we will be unable to follow our latest game plan . So, for now we remain in a holding pattern and will reschedule events whenever the existing conditions permit. Hopefully we can get some racing in soon🏁

We hate to say it but it looks like it’s coming again. If you are out and end up in the ditch give the areas only local professionally trained operators a call.
A spring snowstorm is likely Sunday into Monday. The greatest risk for accumulations of 6 to 13 inches will be found in northwest Wisconsin, particularly Ashland, Iron, and Price counties. In addition, gusty winds will create blowing and drifting snow in open areas that will make for dangerous driving conditions. There remains some uncertainty on exact amounts for the North Shore, Twin Ports, Bayfield, and Hayward areas because there are still a few different paths that the storm could take, and each path means different snowfall amounts. There will likely be a fairly sharp cutoff in snowfall amounts, and we're still not sure exactly where that cutoff will be just yet. Be sure to keep up with the forecast in the next day as we narrow this area down and provide more precise snowfall estimates.

Good morning! We continue to get more information regarding COVID-19. As we make every effort stop the spread we must take further precautions. This virus is highly contagious, it’s airborne, lives on surfaces and most people don’t even know they have it. We care about the health and well-being of our employees and customers. With that we ask all customers to secure alternative transportation when your vehicle needs a tow if possible. We will not leave anybody in any dangerous situation, but if we ask this is why. We will also continue to disinfect any vehicle we enter for a tow and our equipment after each call. We want to be part of the solution not part of the problem. Be safe, be smart and stay healthy!
Car died? Stuck? Give our pros a call and we will take it to a shop or retrieve it with just phone contact. #mrsmacscares #covid_19 #towpros #professionlytrained #duluth #ironrange #aaaemergencyroadsideassistance #wegowhereyougo
We spent yesterday afternoon recovering this vehicle off Hwy 2. The driver of this vehicle lost control of it going 1000’ off the highway in the fall before the snow hit landing behind some thick brush. The brush pretty well obscured it from the road so it wasn’t found till February.
Doesn’t seem anyone was injured but they cleaned it out and left it there not notifying anyone. We know it can be embarrassing wrecking your car but please don’t do that as it pulls emergency resources away from true emergencies to look for you.
Also don’t steal license plates. Pretty obvious this isn’t a trailblazer....
Please if anyone knows 27YO David Bennett who is missing his Volvo. Tell him the car is safe, he can now relax cause we know he has been worried about it. Have him contact us so we can get it back into his care as we are sure it misses him just as much.

SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER!
With the fog tonight Hwy 53 is black ice. Please slow down and drive with due care till the sun comes out and burns it off. Also SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER for emergency lights. Almost had one truck/ operator hit tonight because of road conditions and a commercial truck not obeying that law.
This is just frustrating and scary. These guys had families to go home to and will not now due to careless drivers not following a simple law to SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER. It’s frustrating because we should not have to face this every time we turn that key. Our families should not have to worry until they hear that truck return. It also causes a trickle down effect. The labor pool diminishes because people don’t want that risk. That causes longer wait times for service because of the lack of operators. Then insurance goes up because of this pattern and the risk. We have to protect our operators and send multiple units to risky areas to mitigate risk best we can. This causes prices to go up for service. This is all really frustrating, but the worst and scary part is it only feels like a matter of time before it’s one of our own or a close friend in the industry again.
Help us out share this message and help spread the word about S.D.M.O.
If you see flashing lights Slow Down (20 MPH) & if safe to do so, move over a lane.
We would love to say happy new year but this year is starting out pretty rough. Our thoughts are with the O’Hare family as they deal with loosing an operator this AM. That is a issue we hope to never face but with the lack of care, respect and knowledge about the move over law the sad fact is the odds are we will... PLEASE help us beat those odds! SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER for lights.
Please Slow Down & Move Over
This happened in Texas but could easily be any of the highways around here. This is a great example of the dangers we face day and night and why we push for enforcement of the MN Move Over Law. PLEASE follow it and help us go home to our families.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from the entire Mrs. Mac’s Towing & Transport family! As always, we’re only one call away if you need us!
We have had WAY too many close calls and plain ignorance of the Slow Down & Move Over Law in the last couple weeks. Please, PLEASE, we want to go home to our loved ones after the call. If you see flashing lights, MOVE OVER to a clear lane if safe to do so. If you cannot do so safely, SLOW DOWN a minimum of 20MPH below posted speed limit.
PLEASE smash the share button and help us out.
Make sure you watch it until the end

Light up a gray day with headlights!
Anytime it is snowing (even during daylight hours), your headlights need to be on. Headlights help you see and be seen by other travelers. 511mn.org for road conditions and live highway/snowplow cameras.
Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for our customers. You are all amazing.
A little humor to get us through the day. #Mrsmacstowing #NEMNsFinest #certifiedpros
Please Slow Down and Move Over! These roads this morning are bad enough today please don’t make it worse.
It happens every time it snows: A trooper, a deputy, a police officer, a tow truck driver — they’re put at risk by drivers going too fast for road conditions who refuse to move over.
Troopers will be responding to crashes and helping stalled motorists along snowy and ice-covered highways across the northern part of the state today.
Help us help you today by slowing down and paying attention. And move over, it’s the law in Minnesota.
Swerved for a deer? Didn’t expect that corner? Tree grew out of nowhere? Tired of waiting on roadside assistance? Don’t trust a Good Samaritan to not do any damage and pull you out. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and AAA since we are the areas local provider. #shoplocal #nemnsfinest #mrsmacstowing #rescue9 #accidentshappen #wreckmastercertified #AAAapproved #JerrDan #rimsling #towlife247 #duluthmn #Ironrange
We want to thank the veterans who served and protected our freedoms. We love showing our appreciation to the veterans we happen across. Because we appreciate them so much we don’t just show that appreciation once a year, we show it year round. If you need our service and have served in the military ask about the military discount we give year round.
Happy Halloween! 🎃Be safe trick or treating.

Our thoughts are with the team at Jerry's Towing, Nate’s wife, and kids.
PLEASE remember when you see flashing lights to Move Over and/or Slow Down.
5 years today doesn't allow peace, give anyone " closure " or ever take the pain from most away😪
Nate would be proud of so many and much! He'd of been such a vital part of the success and future as well here at Jerry's Towing.
Most importantly he would of been the daily role model and loving dad still to Natalie and Kaleb in which will ALWAYS be the most heartbreaking part of losing him from this world.
He had so much life, so much love and so much to experience with being a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend and more.
His dedication, his loyalty, his laugh and snickers as he's saying " C'mon Man" will always be like it's today as it is heard now only in our memories.
The day, the minutes, the time on scene where he was killed, the look on all of those faces of his friends and co workers as we watched in disbelief that he was really gone, they NEVER go away.
The tears, laughs, hugs, love and brotherhood, the faith he's in God's hands and reasons why and that he's in heaven now give some peace.
Nate's eternal life is so much more than we can imagine and what keeps us going and able to keep moving here.
Today it's been 5 years for all but everyday is Nate's day for us here in the towing industry and at Jerry's.
We've learn from his death and we remember and we practice safer ways to do our job that can help minimize the chance of others being killed as Nate was.
Although we can't ever be 100 % safe YOU the traveling pubic can help us by sharing Nate's story, his passion of life and loving of those in it😍
Please remembe that today Nate would be here had someone just paid attention and did the most simple of things!!!
Simply 5 seconds of time would of allowed Nate to live by slowing down AND MOVING OVER would of made all the difference in the life of so many and our dearest friend NATE WALSH would be here today 😭
Love you always Nate 😍🙏
Today is national Slow Down & Move Over Day. Most states have a version of this law and MN’s is dedicated to Trooper Ted Foss who lost his life down by the metro. MN’s law requires you to move a full lane away from emergency/maintenance lights (Law Enforcement, Fire Department, EMS, Tow Trucks, and DOT) or if it’s not safe to do so slow to a safe speed in the lane. We have all lost friends at this point as we are the deadliest profession in that group loosing one operator every 6 days to being hit and killed roadside. PLEASE share this message and help us do our job and go home to our families. #mrsmacstowing #mrsmacstowingcares #nemnsfinest #SDMO #slowdownmoveover #itsthelaw #Duluth #ironrange #tedfosslaw #everyonegoeshome
You actually can help us cut down the cost a couple ways:
•Slow Down and Move Over when you see us working. By doing that an operator wouldn’t be hit and killed every Six days which in turn would take us off insurances most deadly profession list (above first responders) and drop insurance rates. Plus we all have families just like you we want to go home too.
•Transfer titles when selling a vehicle at the DMV, don’t just sign it over and trust that person. We spend thousands of dollars chasing after owners because this simple legal step isn’t taken on 2:3 impounds. It not only helps us find the responsible parties but covers your butt too.
•If you are selling a vehicle for scrap sell it to a reputable recycling facility so the vehicle doesn’t end up in the wrong hands costing you and us a bunch of money.
To wrap up a long week we received a call from the St. Louis County Sheriff Department to go fishing. We knew it was trouble when they advised to bring at least chest waders. We dispatched R-9 to handle the call. Upon arrival and scene size up we knew we had it covered. With a little bit of swimming and some quick clean up we had it out and drying on the shoulder in no time.
If you recognize this vehicle please give us a call to claim your car you left behind. #nemnsfinest #mrsmacstowing #fishing #notacarwash #duluth #ironrange #wreckmastercertified #rimslings #towlife #jerrdanwrecker
