Five years.

This week marked my 5th year on the Air Force One Detailing Team and my 3rd year serving as a Team Lead. It’s hard to put into words what this opportunity has meant to me, both personally and professionally.

First and foremost, thank you to Renny Doyle & Diane Chan Payne Doyle . Your vision created something that is so much bigger than a detailing event. You’ve brought together an incredible community of people who are passionate about craftsmanship, education, preservation, and raising the standard for our industry. I’m grateful to be a small part of it.

A huge thank you as well to all of the sponsors who continue investing in this project year after year. Every year the experience gets better, the products get better, the equipment gets better, and ultimately our entire industry benefits. Being able to spend time with the companies behind the products, hear about their vision, provide honest feedback from the field, and watch that feedback influence future innovation is something truly special. The impact of this project extends far beyond the team fortunate enough to be on site.

One of my favorite parts each year is the people.

Spending time with WWII pilot Dick Nelms, hearing firsthand stories from another generation, is something I’ll never forget.

Connecting with talented people like Michael Abens aka Michael Abens (Urable), Brian, Knox & Michael Hill (Detailing Supply Super Store & Ceramic Coating Inc), Showroom Auto Salon (Buff and Shine Mfg), Chris & Pat (Detailers Roadmap - Detailing Websites & SEO), Kevin Davis (Detailer's Helper Official), Bob (P&S Detail Products / ATG), mattdynabrade , Mike and the entire Dynabrade Automotive / Dynabrade team, along with so many others, is every bit as valuable as the work itself.

Some posts are easy to write.

This isn’t one of them.

Today is Casey’s last day at Garvin Auto Spa.

On June 15, 2015, he walked through our doors looking for an opportunity. Neither of us could have imagined that more than 11 years later we’d be standing here reflecting on everything we’ve built together.

Over the last 18 plus years of Garvin Auto Spa, Casey has been part of more than 11 of them. He wasn’t here from day one, but he absolutely helped take this business from what I think of as Garvin Auto Spa 1.0 to where we are today. Through multiple locations, countless changes, new services, incredible growth, and now preparing for GAS 3.0, Casey has been there through it all.

When GAS 3.0 opens later this year, Casey won’t be here for that chapter, but he’ll always be part of the reason we’ll get there. The foundation of what we’re building wasn’t created overnight. It was built over years of hard work by people like Casey, who showed up day after day, believed in what we were building, and helped earn the trust of this community.

When people see a beautifully polished vehicle leave our shop, they usually see the finished product. What they don’t see are the thousands of hours behind it. The early mornings. The late nights. The summer heat. The winter cold. The attention to detail that most people would never notice. Casey lived that every single day.

For many of you, Casey has been the one behind the machine polishing your vehicle, bringing tired paint back to life, installing paint protection film, applying ceramic coatings, or making sure your pride and joy left looking even better than you imagined. If you’ve trusted Garvin Auto Spa with your vehicle anytime over the last decade, there’s a very good chance Casey had a hand in it.

Businesses are remembered by the people behind them. For more than 11 years, Casey was one of those people.

Over the years, he’s worked on thousands of vehicles and earned the trust of thousands of customers. More importantly, he helped build the reputation that Garvin Auto Spa has today. His work, his consistency, and the pride he took in every vehicle raised the standard for everyone around him.

More than a teammate, Casey has been a friend. We’ve celebrated milestones, solved problems, laughed through stressful days, and weathered some incredibly busy seasons together. We’ve watched this little business grow into something neither of us could have fully envisioned back in 2015.

Now it’s time for his next chapter.

He’s decided to put the buffer down as his full time career and pursue a new adventure. While it’s bittersweet to see him go, I’m incredibly grateful for everything he’s given this business over the last 11 years. Very few people leave a mark on a company the way Casey has, and his impact will be felt here for a long time.

Casey, thank you for believing in what we were building, for sticking through the hard seasons, for caring about every vehicle that came through our doors, and for helping build Garvin Auto Spa into what it is today. I truly wish you nothing but happiness and success in whatever comes next. You’ll always be part of the Garvin Auto Spa family.

And to our incredible customers, if Casey has ever worked on your vehicle, talked with you at the shop, or made your experience at Garvin Auto Spa a little better, I’d love for you to help send him off the right way. Each year, top detailers from around the country are selected to help restore and preserve the historic Air Force One aircraft and others at the Museum of Flight. It’s a huge honor to represent McMinnville and lead part of this elite team!

🎉 17 Years of Tint, Tools & Garvin Grit 🎉

On April 15, 2008, 21-year-old Adam made the leap, ditching the safety net and turning a high school marketing project into a full-time hustle. No boss, no backup plan. Just tint, glass, tools, and the kind of stubborn confidence only a 21-year-old with a heat gun and zero chill could pull off.

This story runs deeper than one kid and a dream. The Garvin name has been part of Yamhill County’s automotive DNA since 1952, when Grandpa Bruce was out there sealing deals and selling cars with a handshake, a smile, quick-witted humor, and probably a 🥃.

From putting people into cars to now keeping them looking dialed in & protected, we’ve come full circle.

17 years later, we’re still at it.
Still building. Still obsessed with quality and relationships. Still doing that squint thing when the film lines up just right.
And yeah… maybe cooking up something behind the scenes.

To every customer, every referral, every early believer, thank you!

And to all the team members and great staff we’ve had over the years: thank you for being part of this ride. The project is more than detailing, it’s about preserving aviation history. Over the course of the week, Adam and a hand selected team of elite professionals will restore and protect some of the most iconic aircraft ever built, including:

* One of the most meaningful moments for Adam was getting the chance to speak with now 102-year-old B-17 pilot Dick Nelms, a powerful reminder of what these aircraft represent.
