Spent my Saturday at the chicken swap and having great conversation and planning for next summer's "farming".
We have decided after four years of NOT profit farming that we are going to change over to substinence farming. That means instead of selling to the public we will be focused on raising food for our family.
We have more than we need we will sell anything extra.
I WILL still raise meat turkey and chickens for the public but these will be done on a pre-order basis.
Egss will still be available depending on chicken cooperation. We did downsize the flock for winter as they are aging out. We will raise a new flock next spring from the early eggs from the girls.
That being said we will also have barred rock chicks available for purchase in the spring. These will be straight run. And chicks will be available once a month March through May.
