Good Looks Auto Detailing has been a staple in Marquette as the BEST place to get your car detailed, period.

From 2010-2024, we have showcased our commitment to what a quality detail SHOULD be. Even in my current daily absence, my efforts has left a lasting effect on Marquette in some amazing ways! We have successfully trained other local detailers who have implemented my processes in their own careers and businesses (Mike Hanold at Jon's Auto, Brittny Grund at Shine UP), raised the wages for auto detailers in Marquette County, and received 100 reviews averaging 5 stars on Google from 2021-2024.

After 15 years of my dedication to professional training, personal growth, becoming a father, moving, and evaluating everything over the last 15 years through 8 months ago, I'm PROUD to announce that I am rebranding as "Mid Michigan Auto Spa" located in Midland, MI.

What does this mean? While our services, quality, and Darron still as the owner will remain unchanged, I felt that a professional refresh and rebrand for the next 15 years will be key to reach the higher goals I set for myself.

While still in the developmental stages, I'm sharing my new Facebook business page with our dedicated followers. As for our Marquette "VIP customers", we will still service you from Spring - Fall under my new business name. We encourage anyone who wants to continue following us under our new page! I look forward to this new chapter!

I'm absolutely devastated for the families involved. Jake was a classmate of mine, and the Kostreva family has been huge supporters of my business and all their family's vehicles over the last 4 years. I truly consider their family one of my VIP customers, and I can't express in words or actions on how I can help their families get through this.

It's truly a tragic reminder that tomorrow is never promised. So let your grudges go for those who hurt you, call that person and tell them you love them. I personally know what losing family young is like, and I grieve with them with all my heart.

The three Gwinn teens injured in the crash remain hospitalized and are recovering from their injuries.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying time with their families. The spirit of Christmas isn't what you get, it's what you give, and not just in presents or items or freebies.

This is just an update over the last few months that will go on both personal and business pages:

13 years later, and I'm still doing well without any issues with my one kidney. But good health doesn't last forever. Coming on 40 years old in just over a year to me seems unfathomable because I do feel younger than I am, but I'm not 24 anymore. Health, and physical ability naturally diminishes, even in high energy people.

When I started Good Looks Auto Detailing in 2010, it was exactly because I could not get hired anywhere at that point in life. Today, it's purpose has been served, and my expertise has outgrown what GLAD was established to be. My focus IF I'm going to continue auto detailing, is that I'm going to be more "private high-end detailing", and consistent maintenance customers. I won't be open to the general public, but only to a select handful of people that have to meet my requirements to be my client. A master should be able to pick and choose what he does in life and how he spends his time, especially being a father of 2 growing young lads.

This will make work for me much easier and less strenuous on my body. As our bodies start to degenerate slowly past 40 (especially in a physical activity as auto detailig), and this thought is something I'm considering as I'm at a junction in the direction my life on which way I'll do for at least the next 15-20 years when retirement is on my doorstep, I'll be ready.

My dad started a new direction in life after 20+ years being and engineer & project manager, to do accrural accounting in a manufacturing enviornment. Being near the top of my field in auto detailing, I'm comfortable walking away and possibly starting a new career after 20 years in the industry. True, I can push and learn the extra 2-3% that I can still learn, but I can safely say I mastered the art of auto detailing; and having the stack of undeniable proof to confidently (not egotistically)as been showcased for the last 4 years. I saw my potential in 4 years of hard dedication in Marquette. So I'll give another 5 in Detroit (still service Marquette during warmer months) to see if I can double that. If in 5 years I'm in a place where I'm not physically performing the jobs, but much more crafted in training others, then I'll run my business until I pass away. Until then, my general curiosity in life is to neve stop learning, always be curious, and aim high.

2024 brought a wave of my own struggles since moving away from Marquette. It was a challenging year that many people would struggle with too, but it tested my resilience and courage in ways I could not have succeeded just 5 years ago.What won't change about me, is my resilience and dedication to be a high achiever in anything I put my determination into.

Looking forward to 2025 and beyond.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

As we look forward into 2025, we have some updates to provide to our customers and followers. Starting the business on the other side of the state has been slow, but good work always brings progress. However, we have noticed some issues come up for some of you in Marquette during scheduling and availability since October.

Since we can only service mobile in Marquette during Spring - Fall months, we have had several people schedule online outside of the time window I would be in the area. We have to keep the calendar open for people in Oakland County customers, but we can't detail when it's snowing in Marquette. We apologize if anyone has had confusion. We have worked with Shawn at OrbisX to adjust the CRM bugs, so I can have availability in Oakland County (It was 50 degrees yesterday and can still work) and not take bookings in Marquette until Spring 2025.

Unfortunately with the limited availability I will be in Marquette to serve customers in the future, I have to keep these spots open to our VIP customers. To help mitigate future booking & schedule issues with the general public, we have updated our phone number, and will only be available in Marquette to our VIP customers. Those customers will be receiving an email with further instructions on services and scheduling next year.

Unfortunately, we can't service customers who are not on our VIP list in the future. We have been asked many times who does good detailing. I don't have an answer at this point, because I don't know anyone who has a similar background, skill set, ratings, and "Time In The Industry" that matches the standard we set in Marquette. I only say that because I don't want to refer or over promise my customers to someone and have them be let down by my reference.

With the weather in Marquette finally coming to look like winter, we are sad to announce that our services in Marquette will be closed for the remainder of 2024. We will be emailing Marquette customers in April 2025 to get on our list for spring services!

*We are still open & operating in Oakland County!

2024 has been a year I'll never forget. To me, it has been a year of deep self reflection and transition in my life. I'm eternally grateful for the opportunity to be of service to everyone in this industry for now 15 years! 💪

If you made a deposit and hoped to get on our schedule before we closed for the season, we can either keep your deposit and be the FIRST to pick appointments in May (dates will be announced in March), or we can offer a full refund. We will reach out to those customers next week. I look forward to 2025 in Marquette!
