My heart is full today….
We’ve been waiting a long time to share this one!
Since April of last year, we have been working behind the scenes to create a program centered around something we believe can make a lasting difference in our community: LITERACY.
We are incredibly honored to be piloting Driven to Read with the 1st grade students at Roosevelt Elementary School in Mankato.
Throughout this school year, Kia of Mankato will spend time reading with the students each month and introduce a new theme centered around a meaningful lesson. This month, we kicked things off with one of our favorites: Kindness.
Each student will take home a book of their own to add to their personal library, a themed bookmark, and access to videos of Kia of Mankato staff reading the books. Our hope is that the reading continues long after we leave the classroom and becomes something they can enjoy together at home.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Kruize, Principal of Roosevelt Elementary, for being willing to sit down with us, dream alongside us and help bring this program to life. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with Roosevelt and invest in these students.
Our goal is simple: help build their personal libraries, encourage a love of reading, and remind these young readers that books can open doors to endless possibilities.
This is what Community Driven means to us.
This month our Kia Controller, Stephanie, and our Hyundai Controller, Kayla, accompanied our Marketing Manager, Laura, on the first reading adventure.
