2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody: 6-speed manual, Plum Crazy Purple paint, Demonic Red Laguna leather interior, Brass Monkey Devil’s Rim wheels and badges, 19 speaker HarmanKardon sound, suede headliner, moonroof, and just about every other option I could tick, including a couple that weren’t on the official Dodge build page.

Hellcat, Demonic, Devil - there’s a fun pattern there.

I also wanted the Satin Black Painted Hood, Mopar Black Hood Pin Kit, Satin Black SRT Performance Spoiler, and Copper Weave Carbon Fiber interior trim, but all those were gone before Dodge even made the manual available to order on May 31. Bummer.

Figure I could wrap the hood and install the spoiler and carbon fiber bits with some help, but the hood pins take a skill (and tools) I don’t have. Might leave the whole thing as is, but full and beefed up security are happening regardless.

Ordered in mid-June and confirmed just the other day - with VIN!

It’s going to a dealer 4 hours away and I’ll have to arrange transport to get it shipped here. The whole thing will be a financial and logistical nightmare but ya only live once, right?

Yes, it’s been a long time but I’m back to share this. I’ve been back and forth with many dealerships, but this one’s a true gem.

Why are there two colors and styles of text? I believe the person on the other end of this email exchange just copied and pasted what some manager sent to them (the white text).

Yeah capitalism, supply and demand blah fu***ng blah. There’s no justification for this level of greed.

We’re not talking about a 7-figure car here. Or even a 6-figure one.

I won’t say more, since I don’t want to jinx anything and I’m still on the hunt.

There’s a very obscure hint in that screenshot I posted. That’s all I’m sayin’ for now 😬.

2 of 2: So Dad and I got the OPTIMA Batteries Yellow Top DH6 battery into my Ford Motor Company Focus RS. It was one of those fun bonding experiences that make you feel warm & squishy inside.

Dad had a rough 2020 & it didn’t stop this year but he’s doing better. He wanted to dive into this project headfirst & I had to convince him to let me do the heavy lifting.

Once the battery was wedged in there, I asked Dad do the honors & start the car first. It came to life without hesitation.

I owe all my knowledge & love of cars to this man. It may be a routine task for a mechanic, but this was the biggest car project we’ve done together & I’ll never forget it.

1 of 2: So I ordered a Yellow Top DH6 battery for my 2018 Ford Motor Company Focus RS from OPTIMA Batteries. Customer service was great & they recommended a place to charge it. I took it along with the old Motorcraft battery for disposal.

Together these batteries must weigh at least 120 lbs. - the stock Focus RS battery is a beast.

I put them together on this adorable tiny hand truck, which handled the load just fine. But I somehow managed to get my finger caught underneath in the parking lot, which took the full weight of everything for a second. I didn’t even want to look at the damage as I took the batteries inside the place. Dr. Dad would later pick gravel out of my crushed finger & clean & dress the gash.

Following all this I dug out the family socket wrench set. It’s 25+ years old & from a company that no longer exists. For the first time I organized all the bits & was shocked to find that not a single piece was missing. We did misplace the inner foam that held everything in place but mom & I fashioned a replacement out of cardboard.

Next time: Installation.

Last month I tried starting my 2018 Ford Motor Company Focus RS & all the gauges went crazy. The needles swept back & forth & all the idiot lights came on. One of the wipers moved beyond the windshield & tried to hit the garage wall. It was a car possessed! 😈. We tried a few fixes & jumping it but in the end just disconnected the battery.

Today we removed the factory Motorcraft battery. It’s not very difficult but also not as straightforward as some other cars. Had to remove the air box to get it out.

Next week we’re dropping in an OPTIMA Batteries Yellowtop battery & K&N Filters air filter. The car also needs a service & inspection.

Like my Rocky II tiger jacket? I’m lucky I didn’t ruin it or get it dirty. It started as part of a Halloween costume & now is a daily wear.

Can’t wait to get the Blue Bomber back on the road.

This 1936 Lincoln Zephyr is a throwback to NYC in the ‘30s and ‘40s. You can find it parked outside the similarly inspired Hi-Life NYC on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

NewYorKars stopped by Hi-Life Bar & Grill & spoke with proprietor Earl Geer. We got the history of the restaurant & car, both of which are neighborhood staples.

Aside from some mechanical modifications done for safety’s sake, this black ‘36 Zephyr sedan is stock. The car was produced from 1935-42 & introduced for the 1936 model year. The original engine was a 4.4-liter V-12 that could propel the 3,300 pound car to 90 mph. The base price in 1936 was $1,275.

We have featured quite a few Porsche 911 variants here at Oloi. This month marks our third review of a car from the 997 generation. Martina Kwan’s 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera is among good company, joining the likes of Oloi’s own one-of-a-kind 911 Carrera 4 GTS and this coveted 911 GT3 RS 4.0.

This 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera is a full-on race car named Firehorse. Owner/driver Martina Kwan has won multiple championships with this car and opened DK Racing School to pass her experiences onto others.

This was the first year for the 911’s 997.2 update, which saw Porsche replacing its optional Tiptronic S transmission with PDK. Bi-xenon headlights & direct fuel injection were also added.

This 1969 Chevrolet Nova has been passed down in one family for more than 50 years. It has its factory 230 motor & Powerglide transmission.

1969 was the year that the entire Chevrolet II line adopted the Nova nameplate. The ‘68 Nova introduced the new body style & longer wheelbase.

Many powertrain choices were available. This car’s 3.6-liter straight 6 produces 140 hp & 220 lb-ft of torque.

Aside from a paint job & passenger mirror & rear seatbelt installations, this Nova is stock. The original bill of sale and owner’s manual are in great condition.

The 2018 Ferrari GTC4Lusso T is a shooting brake with room for 4 & a prancing horse badge. This seemingly unlikely Ferrari can trace its history to the Italian carmaker’s beginnings, however.

Ferrari’s grand touring aspirations go back to the birth of the company - the 166 was introduced in 1948 as the first true road car to leave the Maranello factory. It had a folding rear bench. A long line of GT cars followed.

The 2011 FF replaced the 612 Scaglietti with an all-new design but retained the rear seats. The GTC4Lusso followed in 2016.
