📚 School's out for summer!

Today marks the last day of school for students.

As summer vacation begins, expect to see more kids walking, biking, playing outside, and enjoying their freedom.

Let's all do our part to keep our roads safe by slowing down in neighborhoods and staying alert behind the wheel.

🚜 The farmers are out and about in Aroostook County.

Over the next several weeks, you'll likely see tractors, planters, and other farm equipment traveling our local roads as farmers work long days to get crops in the ground and taken care of.

A few reminders when you encounter farm equipment:

✅ Slow down and be patient
✅ Leave extra following distance
✅ Remember equipment may take up much of the roadway
✅ Watch for wide turns and unexpected movements
✅ Only pass when it is safe and legal to do so
✅ Allow a little extra travel time during busy farming periods

We know it can be tempting to get around slower-moving equipment, but a few extra minutes of patience can help keep everyone safe.

Thank you to the farmers who work hard to help feed our communities, and thank you to everyone who helps make our roads safer this planting season.

☀️ Camping trips, boats, ATVs, and summer adventures are just around the corner.

Before hooking up that trailer and hitting the road, take a few minutes to make sure everything is ready to go:

✅ Check that all trailer lights are working properly
✅ Verify brake lights and turn signals are functioning
✅ Inspect safety chains and hitch connections
✅ Check trailer tire pressure and condition
✅ Make sure your load is properly secured
✅ Confirm your vehicle is rated to tow the weight you're pulling

A quick walk-around before every trip can help prevent breakdowns, accidents, and unwanted surprises along the way.

Road trip season is getting closer ☀️🛣️🚘

Before summer travel kicks into full gear, it’s not a bad idea to check:
✔️ Tires
✔️ Brakes
✔️ Fluids
✔️ Wipers
✔️ Battery health

And one thing people often forget… your vehicle’s emergency kit 🩹🚨

If you keep a first aid kit in your car (which is always a good idea 👌), take a quick minute to:
✔️ Check expiration dates
✔️ Replace used items
✔️ Restock essentials

A little preparation now can make a big difference later — especially during summer travel season.
