Been scouring data non-stop since last week. We have some refining to do, but we have a lot left in the tank for which we plan to tap into progressively as the year moves forward. Don’t want to blow our wads at the beginning of the season 😉

Proud of every single individual who’s had a hand in this thing, big or small. For a little fish in a big pond, we’re just happy to be swimming in it 🐠

Mental health days at US 131 Motorsports Park hit differently now. It’s been two years since this car has been back here and what a day to get our feet back wet at our favorite track!

Happy to finally report we had a bunch of 1/8 mile bests and now have a consistent 4-second drag and drive car! We still have some work to do on the 60’ and a few other odds and ends before we take it out the back. But man, this is something we’ve known we’ve had for awhile now and finally have the paper to show it. Couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved!

Huge thanks to Adam Miner and Bryan Reid for being my guys. Also, huge thanks to Nick Cole-Mann for the advice from a far on power/clutch approach. We learned a metric F ton and we have high hopes for pushing these times deeper as the year progresses.

Got some nostalgia rolling through the garage this past week! Not only taking a step back to my blower roots, but making sure my old short block is comfy in its new home was definitely a bitter sweet moment!

Mike’s car has been up here a few times for various things over the years. The task this time was to make sure the engine/transmission made it safely back into the car while getting some additional accessories lined out to compliment the build. Got a nice starting point for a tune up loaded and it’s ready to get some break in miles on it! One it’s time to rip we’ll be helping Mike in the background with some tune-up refinement to put the cherry on top. Should be a fun street car!

Basics on the combo…
- Old-school liquid-cooled 2.8H Kenne Bell (3.25” upper / 6 # lower, 28 pounds)
- NEMAK 3v aluminum block
- Manley forged studded crank
- K1 rods
- Weisco pistons with the big wrist pins (about 9:7:1 compression)
- Refreshed stock heads with some mild camshafts
- Fore Innovations dual pump fuel system on E85
- Kooks/Borla exhaust
- Holley EFI (Terminator X Max)
- 4R70W transmission
- Still factory IRS in the back with a few goodies

One of the hardest things to do at the race track is to remember to smile and have fun. The competitive nature in us gets in the way of that, especially when things aren’t going your way, or when you know you can do better. But those lows make you better both as a racer and as a person, and should be embraced no matter how hard it is to do so.

I had some goals going into our trip to Alabama. Some of these goals have been on my list for a number of seasons, but still ended up missing the mark. It’s even harder to swallow when the main reason you miss the mark is because of…. you… 🫩 But if you don’t fail, you don’t learn. And I learned a lot about what this car needs moving forward to keep progressing.

The new twin turbo/motor combo is VERY happy. The new chassis is VERY happy. I’m comfortable in the car. Everything seems to be falling into place. We’re not far off from consistently being where we want to be 😎

30 days until we head south to test, so it’s time to get this puppy finished up!

Belly pan is mounted and painted ✅

Trans back in hand and buttoned up in the car ✅

The trans was an interesting case but we got to the bottom of it. Lots of people to thank, including Don Walsh at D&D Performance, Jon Miller at Calimers Transmissions, and Damon Elff for pointing us in the right direction. Time to actually make a full pass in this thing!

Now the wrap… Maybe 80% done? 🤔 Me and Bryan Reid are slated to put a good amount of time into it tomorrow night, so it won’t be long now!

Well, this wrap job has been a thorn in our sides to say the least. We loved the color that was on the car previously, but unfortunately 3M doesn’t make the Gloss Glacier Gray anymore and we were forced to find something else.

This vinyl was the closest thing we could find to the original, but it is a “calendared vinyl” that has a super high initial tack adhesive. The higher initial tack has slowed us down as it makes for a less user-friendly experience. The 3M was a “cast vinyl” with a more pressure-activated adhesive so until you squeegee it down, it doesn’t hard stick, which is what makes it more manipulative.

It’s taking twice as long with twice the amount of hands as it should to successfully complete the job, but thankfully, Bryan Reid has been chipping away at this thing with zen-like patience and it’s coming out 🔥

The color is much more deeper/glossier than the original. Its initial presence is slightly darker (which I like) and the final product is much smoother (less orange peely) with more distinct color hue changes depending on the lighting. All in all, I’m a big fan of how it’s coming out.

We’re about 60% complete. Hope to have some final product photos within the next few weeks!

Merry Christmas from our team to yours! I hope Santa brought everything you and your family asked for!

Figured we’d get the juices flowing on this warmer than normal Christmas Day here in Michigan. This thing is just about ready to head south to test. Last big thing on the list is that Bryan Reid love to get the car back to looking 🔥 again.

Anxious to get back in the chair and keep that positive momentum rolling!

While the transmission and axles are still being attended to, I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit trying to finish off the interior and miscellaneous electronics that took a back seat during the Mod Nationals thrash.

There’s nothing quick or fun about incorporating stock interior back into a car with a 25.2/3 cage. It isn’t Autorama show quality, but it presents decent and most importantly, it’ll race 😎 So it’s good enough for who it’s for!

Our list of off-season tasks is getting smaller by the week! Can’t wait to see it all complete!

Picking away at some things in the background, but mannnnn, watching WCF has me motivated more than ever….

We’re so damn close to having this car lined out in its most capable form it’s ever been in. In-between oil downs I’ve even dissecting videos and reviewing data. All I can say is I can’t wait to get back to work.

Can’t wait for 2026…
