🔴 JUSTICE FOR DONNIE — SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING 🔴

My name is Melyssa aka Meme Fox, and I am the niece of Donald “Donnie” Daymond Bailey McCubbins.

Donnie was only 19 years old when his life was violently taken in Louisville, Kentucky, in December 1976.

He was a young soldier serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox who had come home to Louisville for Christmas break.

He never made it home.

His body was later discovered in the area of Lees Lane/Greenbelt Road in Jefferson County, and according to the information our family has been able to uncover, he had been brutally beaten.

No one has ever been convicted of Donnie's murder.

For decades, our family lived with unanswered questions.

My grandmother, grandfather and my mother—Donnie's sister—are all gone now. As I've gotten older, I've realized that there are pieces of Donnie's story that our family never got answers to.

So I'm trying to find them.

🔎 WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

I'm asking anyone who may have known Donnie, his twin brother Ronnie, my mother Sharon, or their friends and classmates in the Louisville/Shively area during the 1970s to please reach out.

Especially:

• Someone who knew Donnie at Doss High School

• Someone who knew the McCubbins family

• Someone who remembers Donnie or his friends

• Someone who lived around Cloverleaf, Shively, Lees Lane or Greenbelt Road in 1976

• Someone who remembers seeing Donnie shortly before he disappeared

• Someone who remembers his light-blue Volkswagen Beetle

• Someone who remembers hearing anything about what happened

• Someone who was young at the time but remembers something their parents or neighbors talked about

• ANYONE who may have information that could help investigators

And please understand:
You don't have to know whether something is important.

If you remember something—even something that seems insignificant—please tell me.

I am not asking anyone to accuse someone, investigate someone, or confront anyone.

I'm trying to find information and answers and get everything we uncover into the hands of the proper investigators.
If you have information but don't want to speak publicly, you can contact me privately or submit information anonymously through LMPD.

❤️ WHY I'M DOING THIS

I was only a little girl when Donnie was murdered.
But he was my uncle.

He was someone's son.

Someone's brother.

Someone's twin.

Someone's friend.

Someone's fellow soldier.

He was only 19 years old.

His life shouldn't be reduced to an old newspaper clipping.

His family shouldn't have to carry unanswered questions forever.

Donnie deserves to be remembered as a person—not simply as a cold case.

So I'm asking Louisville:
WHO REMEMBERS DONNIE?

Please LIKE, SHARE and SAVE this post.

If you lived in Louisville or Shively during the 1970s, please share it with someone who did.
Maybe someone remembers something.
Maybe someone heard something.
Maybe someone has been carrying a memory for nearly 50 years and never knew where to take it.
Someone knows something.

🕊️ Justice for Donnie.

❤️ Forever loved. Never forgotten.

I WENT TO THE PLACE WHERE MY UNCLE WAS FOUND.

Yesterday I finally went to the area where Donnie's body was reportedly discovered in 1976.
I didn't know what I was going to feel when I got there.

But as I got closer to the wooded area, I got goosebumps that covered both of my arms.

Then, when I went farther into the woods, something very strange happened.

I had an overwhelming feeling of familiarity—as if I had somehow been there before.

I know I hadn't.

I was only a child when Donnie was killed, and I had never physically been to this location before.

I can't explain that feeling, and I'm not claiming that it means anything. I'm simply documenting my experience because this investigation is personal to me.

I also stopped at several homes near the wooded area and spoke with people who were willing to listen. I left my name, Donnie's name and information about this page.

I'm hoping that by putting Donnie's name back into the community, someone who remembers something from 1976 will see it.

I am looking for memories—not accusations.

If you lived in this area during the 1970s, please reach out.

Someone may remember something that could help answer questions that have remained unanswered for nearly 50 years.

❤️ Justice for Donnie.

"Seeking Help to Solve a Cold Case in Louisville Kentucky"

My uncle, Donald D. Bailey McCubbins, was found deceased in a field in Louisville, Kentucky, Jefferson County, off Lees Lane in December 1976. He was 19 years old at the time and home on Christmas break from serving in the army at Fort Knox. His car, a light blue Volkswagen Beetle, was found at a separate location.

He was last seen visiting a friend in the Dreamland Neighborhood on Lees Lane in Louisville, Kentucky. I'm reaching out to anyone who may have information about my uncle's case, including friends who knew him, witnesses who may have seen something, or anyone who has information that could be helpful. I was told his murder is still discussed in the area. The soldier who was murdered from Fort Knox, Ky.

This case has been cold for over 45 years, and I'm determined to find out more information about what happened to my uncle. I've started a page to share information and gather support. If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please contact me.

Notably, my uncle had a twin brother, Ronnie Bailey McCubbins, and I'm unsure of anything pertaining to him. My family was small but very close except for him, he was always distant and we never had a relationship or kept in contact.

I don't even know what he knows about the case, kind of odd to me, it's your twin brother!! I'd still be fighting to this day unless.....
