2016 Nissan Frontier customer complaint was a unpleasant smell inside the vehicle. During a visual inspection of the hvac system found the cabin air filters to be in very poor shape. These cabin air filters were clogged with debris from the recirculation door being open and all the leaves and junk on the windshield cowl area falling into the hvac box!

The cabin air filter should be checked every oil change. Symptoms of a clogged cabin air filter varies. One is a smell inside the car. Second symptom is when turning the blower motor on your have poor air flow out of the vents. Also a clogged cabin filter will cause the blower motor to over work and cause blower motor and sometimes the blower motor resistor to burn out.

So when a shop tries to sale you a cabin air filter all you have to do is ask if they can show you the bad filter to see if it really is bad and if it is. Go ahead and get it replaced, it allows you to breath cleaner air, and allows the hvac system to work properly!

Here at Bryant's Automotive Repair Ltd. We carry carbon filter cabin filters to help with those unwanted outside smells getting in the hvac!

Cabin air filter replacements starting at $39.95 vehicle varies price. Along with this price you get tires aired up properly, and visual vehicle inspection for preventative maintenance!
