The Inflation Reduction Act produced a ripple effect on EV automakers, including Hyundai, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and Honda, driving their decision to move the final assembly to North America and source EV battery components from North America or its free trade partners.

A new rule by the NHTSA frees driverless cars from being required to have manual controls such as steering wheels and pedals. This shift is a game changer for autonomous vehicle technology companies like Argo AI, Waymo, zoox, and Cruise – which begins production of the Origin in 2023.
