I’m always going to keep figuring out how to make kdss system better. One of the weakest links is the rear fixed kdss link. If you wheel your vehicle really hard and come down on the sway bar really hard. The fixed rear link is your weak point. It’s so thin and the cast steel that is used is not the best quality. When / if it bends, being that the sway bar is connected to the kdss strut side as well, if it doesn’t compress a little on that hard hit. The kdss shaft will bend and now you got even bigger issues. Also, if have you have a really old vehicle, the chances of that upper link joint being seized is high and most dont know this but its not allowing the sway bar to pivot properly. That oem joint is not replaceable ! The joint on the billet link is 💪🏽❤️!
KDSS DROP SPACER?!
The kdss rear drop spacers are really only for a few reasons. Just because you have kdss , doesn’t mean you need them. Here’s the main reasons why you need them.
-You introduced extended travel shocks that have enough down travel to where the sway bar and track bar contact. You can test this by jacking up the vehicle off the rear tow hitch. Get tires off ground. Inspect to see if there’s contact. If there’s contact , you have more droop available but that two parts colliding is preventing that. The drop spacers prevent that contact.
- you have a really tall lift and want to re position the sway bar back to originally position ( not really important )
- you want to run a 285/70/17 tire in the spare oem location.
- you want some color back there 🤣🤔. Some ppl must have bling!
- not to fix or prevent KDSS lean!
Now that there’s a few companies copying the two drop spacer idea. Let’s keep these lazy companies on their toes 🤣. We know they don’t do any testing and they are just following along. The problem is that they will try to sell you something even if you don’t need it!
Anyway, instead of selling 2 spacers , one that lowers the sway bar ( passenger side ) and the the driverside one is what helps the kdss piston sit in the oem location ( middle of kdss strut ) by pushing it back up. I will be selling the setup as one longer billet link and one spacer for the strut side! leerlnt
