1. Plan ahead for any travel and if it is severe do not attempt unnecessary travel.
2. Drive an appropriate speed for the conditions of the road.
3. Keep an appropriate distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
4. Remember to give extra stopping distance.
5. Keep a Winter emergency kit in your vehicle
