Today is National Boss’s Day, but instead of celebrating me, I want to take a minute to recognize the people who make it possible for me to be called a boss.
When I started Polk County Golf Carts, I had a dream, a lot of determination, and no idea just how many challenges would come along the way. There have been good days, bad days, sleepless nights, times I’ve questioned myself, and times I’ve wondered how I was going to make it all work. But one thing I’ve learned is that you don’t build something like this by yourself.
To my employees, I hope each of you knows how much you mean to me. You’re more than just people who show up for a paycheck. You’re part of something I’ve poured my heart and soul into. I know I can be hardheaded, demanding, and probably not the easiest person to work for some days. But I hope you never question how much I appreciate you. I see the hard work, the sacrifices, and the pride you put into what we do. Without y’all, none of this would be possible.
To my family, thank you for loving me through the long hours, missed time together, stress, and all the times my mind was still at work even when I was home. You’ve seen the struggles that most people never see, and you’ve stood beside me through every one of them.
To my friends, thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, sending business my way, and being there when I needed someone. Some of you have supported me from day one, and I’ll never forget that.
I’ve never claimed to be a perfect boss, husband, father, or friend. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve learned some hard lessons, and I’m still learning every day. But everything I do comes from wanting to build something that my family can be proud of and that the people working beside me can be proud to be part of.
Money comes and goes. Businesses have good years and bad years. But the people who stand beside you when things aren’t easy are the ones who truly matter.
I may own the business, but the people around me are what make it worth owning.
So on Boss’s Day, I don’t want a pat on the back. I just want to say THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate every single one of you more than words can express.
I’m blessed beyond what I deserve, and I don’t ever want to forget the people who helped me get here.
Love and appreciate y’all! ❤️
