Penobscot Off Road Riders ATV Club

Penobscot Off Road Riders ATV Club Welcome to the Penobscot Off-Road Riders page.

Established on April 10, 2003, the Penobscot Off-Road Riders ATV Club’s purpose is to establish an ATV trail system while respecting landowner’s property, and encouraging the safe use of ATVs.

Today Dave & Tom met with one of our long time sponsors and contractors, G.A. Porter & Son, Glen & Alan Porter.
We met at the top of the big, rock, and ledge exposed hill between Transalpine Rd. & Enfield Rd.
This STEEP trail section is very intimidating to many riders going both up & down.
Glen, Dave, & Tom discussed different options to tame the hill, divert water, and make it manageable for our younger riders as well!
We hope this project is started very soon and when the bypass trail is completed we will have clear, well defined trails to Lincoln from the Clubhouse!
Thank You for battling the bugs, Glen, Allen, Dave & Tom, to survey and plan out this next PORR project!

Keep watching for progress!

Penobscot Off Road Riders Trail Update!

Today One of Our Amazing sponsors, WT Gardner & Sons Inc started our NEW trail!
The trail traverses another of Our Amazing sponsors H.C. Haynes land.
We are truly appreciative of their support to our club!
As Our followers know, this trail will be a bypass trail, to our lost “Glacier Trail”, and will be a tremendous asset to the ATV community getting traffic from Town to Our Club House and the surrounding communities!

🚨 ATV SAFETY REMINDER 🚨

It's that time of year again, and we know many people are enjoying the ATV trails. We're glad to have ATV access in Lincoln, but with that privilege comes the responsibility to follow the rules.

ATVs are only permitted on designated ATV Access Routes. These routes are clearly marked with signage and must be followed at all times.

🗺️ Need a map? Stop by the Lincoln Police Department—we have ATV route maps available to help you stay on the approved access routes.

📋 Please remember:
✅ Ride on the right side of the road in single file
✅ ATVs must be registered
✅ Riding is permitted 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. from May 15 through November 1, unless there is visible snow
✅ Maximum speed is 15 MPH (or slower when conditions require)
✅ Riders 10–16 years old must have proof of an ATV Safety Course and ride between their parents
✅ All riders under 18 must wear a helmet
✅ Obey all traffic laws and posted signs
✅ Respect pedestrians, bicyclists, property owners, and other trail users
❌ No riding on sidewalks or in parks

We want everyone to enjoy the season while helping us preserve ATV access for years to come. Riding responsibly, staying on the approved routes, and following the ordinance helps ensure we can continue to enjoy this privilege.

Thank you for helping keep Lincoln safe—have a fun and safe ATV season!
