I have done a lot of shows in Las Vegas, but very few as cool as this!
StuntLife put on an awesome jump. No matter your age, your heart skipped a beat when the General Lee came roaring towards that ramp!
I will have the full Somerset, Kentucky car show on my YouTube channel!
Thank you Tyler Long , Northeast Ohio Dukes and Stuntlife for a great show!

Somerset, Kentucky will be host to the General Lee jumping the shark...or the fountain in the town square!
Now we just have to hold off the rain!

To everyone who are planning on attending our June 28th show here is the information many of you have asked for.

Please read this VERY carefully as it will answer most of your questions. It is a lengthy post so we suggest you read it at least twice to make sure you get everything.

First of all THANK YOU to our sponsors who have helped with this epic event!! Thank you Don Franklin Family of Somerset Dealerships ( Don Franklin Chevrolet Buick GMC) for being the Presenting sponsor!! Thanks also to our associate sponsors Somerset Coca-Cola, G&L Refrigeration, Citizens National Bank and to our "Landing Zone" sponsor Outcrop Equipment Sales & Rental & ProTrade Hardware & BBQ Supply!! Also thank you to the Pulaski Co Government and Judge Executive Marshall Todd and Fiscal Court, The City of Somerset and Mayor Alan Keck and City Council and to Somerset Tourist & Convention Commission (See Somerset) and the Lake Cumberland Tourism-Somerset-Pulaski County CVB!! Also thanks to the Somerset Police Dept, Fire Dept and EMS along with the Pulaski Co Sheriff's Dept, the Kentucky State Police and the KY Dept of Highways. Also thank you to the Somerset Street Dept and Sanitation Dept!!

Streets downtown will be closed as of 6am on Saturday morning. This is earlier then normal due to the fact that we'll have to get the ramp setup on the square and finish setting the concrete barriers in the landing zone. Road blocks will be in place. Anyone caught moving a road block will be detained until the Police arrive who will deal with the issue. The road blocks are there for the safety of the volunteers, vendors and attendees. Please make alternate plans if you need to travel through the downtown area. The road blocks will stay in place until after the show and everything is taken down which may be as late as midnight but we'll get everything opened up as quickly as possible.

All vehicles will need to be moved from parking lots that are used and the streets by 8am. We normally make every attempt to find the owners of any vehicles left so that they can come get them but this month we will be very busy getting everything ready and will not have time to locate vehicle owners. Any vehicles left in the areas that will be used for the show/jump will start being removed at 8am at the owners expense.

The Somernites Cruise event will go on as normal from noon to 6pm. John Schneider (Bo Duke), Byron Cherry (Coy Duke), The Northeast Ohio Dukes (Raymond Kohn who will be driving the jump car) and others will be at the show signing autographs and meeting and greeting fans. They will be located on the square area. Please remember that at approximately 6pm we will begin the final setup for the jump and that will end the time to meet these celebrities. If you want to meet them and get their autographs don't show up at 5pm and expect to do that. We expect the lines to be long and it is very possible those who arrive later in the day will not get the opportunity to meet them. Just because you're in line at 6 does not mean you will get to meet them so be aware of the times and plan accordingly. Some will be charging to sign autographs and for pictures so come prepared for that.

At approximately 5pm we will begin moving show vehicles from the approach area which is E Mt Vernon St and the square. If you are parked in that area during the show you MUST move your vehicle. We have secured a place next to the show area where you will be able to move your vehicle to. We will also give you a reminder when we park you that you will need to move your vehicle. If you do not move your show vehicle it will be removed.

Most show vehicles will not need to be moved. However, if you are parked in an area where people will stand to see the jump(north & south Main streets especially) you may want to consider moving your vehicle as there will probably be many people standing next to, behind and in front of your show vehicle. We ask everyone to be very mindful if you are standing next to someone's show vehicle. Do not lean against show vehicles and touch them without the owners permission. Use some common sense please.

The map below shows where people will be allowed to view the "jump"(orange areas). Notice that no one is allowed in the landing zone. That means everyone must leave the swap meet area prior to the jump. No exceptions. Only authorized persons will be allowed in that area. The sidewalks on E Mt Vernon St and around the square area will be open for viewing but only authorized persons will be allowed on the actual streets. There will be a barrier setup along E Mt Vernon St (see black areas on map for barricade locations) that everyone will need to stay behind. The Judicial Courtyard will also be open for viewing as will both North & South Main Streets. North Main street will have a view of the jump from several blocks away. We are not aware on any roof top viewing.

Once the barriers are in place on E Mt Vernon St and around the square then we will do the jump. The final setup should take us around an hour to complete. We ask for your patience during this time. Once the barriers are in place we ask that everyone stay behind them. Anyone caught moving barriers or climbing over barriers will be removed from the show area by Law Enforcement.

We will do a parade lap of "Dukes of Hazzard" vehicles with Celebrities!!

We will be filming this event and hope to make a very nice and professional copy available within a week of the jump.

Drones will NOT BE ALLOWED. Anyone with a drone will be asked to ground it. The jump will not take place as long as there is a drone in the air with the exception of those we have approved.

After the jump our Team members will direct all show vehicles from the show area. Please pay attention to them and go as directed

VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Please be aware that the weather could cause us to have to make changes. If it's scheduled to start raining around the scheduled jump time we may be forced to move the jump up to an earlier time. If it's raining later in the day but is supposed to stop around the jump time then we may have to move the jump to a later time. We will NOT do the jump in the rain or with wet streets and ramp. If necessary it will be rescheduled to a later time. We sincerely hope this won't be necessary but safety first!!

Spectator parking is anywhere outside the show area that is marked for public parking which includes the streets and parking lots. Those include the south Public Library lot on South Main St and the First Baptist Church lot located behind the church on Vine St. We will also be running two shuttle buses (handicap accessible) from Meece Middle School located on Barnett St which is a few blocks from the show area. Parking is also available at Somerset High School which is within walking distance of the show area. Do NOT park in the Post Office lot. They have to get a large mail truck (semi) in there late in the afternoon. Your vehicle will be towed if you park there. Also DO NOT block the driveway of private homes and businesses that are open. Your vehicle will be towed for that as well. Please use common sense when parking and only park in spaces that are marked for it.

We are expecting a record crowd and probably the largest crowd in the history of downtown Somerset. We ask for everyone's patience and cooperation. There will be a lot of activity throughout the day so be mindful of your surroundings at all times.

While you're in town we ask that you purchase an event t-shirt or a raffle ticket(or tickets!!) for one of our raffle vehicles. While this is a free event for everyone to attend it is not free to put on. By purchasing a t-shirt or raffle ticket you will be helping us to continue benefiting our Community!!

Most importantly.............Have Fun!!!!!!!!!! This will be a historic day and we appreciate everyone attending and helping us celebrate 25 years of Somernites Cruise!!!
