ARTIST PROFILE: MARK ERVIN
After spending more than 20 years in Springfield with “the Simpsons”, Mark Ervin has returned to his native Nebraska. Here Mark continues his illustration and animation artistry at his own studio, Art-N-Motion!
Mark's journey back to his Nebraska roots included his study of animation and film making at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArt) in Valencia, California.
His talent as a top layout and storyboard artist at “the Simpsons” led to his directing three episodes as well as his continued work on production board sequences and animation of this long-running series. In addition to his work on “the Simpsons”, Mark also directed six episodes of the beloved “Futurama”. Mark Ervin's talent can also be seen in “Family Guy”, “Rugrats”, “The Critic” and “Rocko's Modern Life”.
Moving back to Nebraska in 2001, Mark worked from his home office for Hollywood until 2012. He continued to delight collectors and fans with his expansion into comic book and publication art for Bongo Comics. Mark Ervin's work appears in comics based upon “the Simpsons”, graphics novels based upon the universe of “Futurama” and calendars for each of these iconic brands.
With the establishment of his own studio Art-N-Motion!, Mark has focused his many talents on the collectible automotive segment. Mark has created Limited Edition titles as well as privately commissioned artwork pieces for collectors and enthusiasts the world over. Mark's works are all characterized by his signature involvement: FUN! Each of Mark's creations, much like an animation cell, tells a story that captures what his wonderful imagination creates as his illustrative talents reveal the nuances of a given project.
