As a reward for being voted best shop in Galveston County again, I loaded up the guys and we took a boat ride to bolivar for lunch! Did some dolphin watching, checked out the battleship Texas and enjoyed an afternoon on the water. Shout out to Stingaree Restaurant restaurant for an excellent meal and shout out to this awesome team (we were missing a couple unfortunately) for taking care of our customers and their cars everyday!

The Role:

As an Automotive Service Advisor, you'll be the vital link between our customers and our service technicians. Your role is to provide a seamless and outstanding service experience, from the moment a customer steps in, to the time their vehicle is ready for pickup. You'll be responsible for understanding their needs, explaining the necessary services, and ensuring their complete satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

Greet customers with a warm, friendly demeanor and assist them with their service needs.
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document their vehicle issues.
Provide clear, honest, and detailed explanations of services and repairs needed.
Offer recommendations for preventative maintenance and other services.
Maintain open communication with our technicians to ensure timely and accurate service.
Follow up with customers to ensure their experience exceeded their expectations.
Uphold our shop's reputation for integrity and high-quality service.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in automotive service or customer service is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.

Proficiency with computer systems and software applications.
Valid driver’s license.
No automotive experience is necessary but automotive knowledge experience is preferred

At Velocity we are PASSIONATE about providing the best customer service and the best quality workmanship in our area. We are looking to take on an apprentice who shares our passion. This is more than a “job”, this is an opportunity for someone who wants to pursue a career in the automotive industry to learn from the best and get paid while doing it. An ideal candidate would be a young person who would be graduating high school this year or next and willing to work after school and in the summer. Punctual, reliable, hardworking, “can-do” attitude and a love for fixing things are must have qualities. We recently implemented a policy where we will not install customer supplied parts. This is a perfect example of why. This vehicle had spark plugs that were bought online. The customer was surprised when we diagnosed a faulty spark plug because they were relatively new. When we removed the faulty spark plug we discovered it was a “counterfeit”. The part number was the same as the original equipment plug but the font was different and the metal wasn’t stamped like the genuine plug. We’ve seen an increasing number of counterfeit parts and they’re sold regularly by big online retailers and apps that everyone uses, not just some obscure site. Be careful buying online parts, there may be a reason that they’re less expensive!
