Project for today. Replacing starter on a 2007 BMW X3, 3.0si
Let me start by saying they are great vehicles expensive to repair and maintain unless you're not afraid to do it yourself. I'm Wanda and the owner of At your service mobile auto repair and Maintenance by WAP aka Wanda's Auto Palace.
First having the right tools makes things go slightly smoother. In Example flat head screw driver, picks, ratchets, battery operated rachet wrench, ziplock bag for bolts etc and more. This is a personal vehicle of ours so I didn't need to rush. One thing for sure though I can't understand why BMW uses certain materials that become very frail with heat and crumble and breaks off smdh. Also why they placed the starter beneath the intake. To access it you need to disconnect lots of wiring and a few hoses remove the air filter and case, throttle body assembly, cabin air filter and case yada yada yada. You'll see what I mean momentarily. Oh, and yes I'm doing the breakdown.
