When I went I Medinas Tires last Tuesday for a tire alignment, they told me I needed two new lower control arms for my car. They took me under the hood, showed me what I needed and I said "okay, do it." A job that they had told me would take 45 minutes took over two hours. The minute I got my car back, I was extremely nervous because my car seemed to shift hard to the right or left. I called my grandparents and parents and everyone told me, "no, your car is fine, they do that when they first get a new alignment." Because no one could really feel what I was feeling, I figured if it got worse, I would take it in the next day.
I had little chance to do that, as the very next day I wound up on the side of the road with a shredded tire. Because Medinas shop had misplaced my wheel-lock-key, I couldn't even get Roadside assistance out to help me put on my spare, and had to leave my car at a gas station an hour away from Jacksonville. The next day, I take my car to a VW dealership and they tell me I need two new tires because of the way the tread is. They replace the tires and I take it to a tire kingdom to have my alignment rechecked.
HERES WHERE IT GETS CRAZY- the tire kingdom pulled my car up and immediately could see the problem. they had tried to tack-weld and grind a bolt that was not the right size for my car into the subframe of my vehicle. It caused the BRAND NEW lower control arm to break, it's the reason my tire shredded the way it did, and ALL of the mechanics at that tire kingdom told me I was very lucky to be alive.
When I confronted medinas about this, first, they pretended not to remember. Next, when I actually went in, they ignored us and tried to say they never did those things. EVEN THOUGH I showed them the bolt (I'm keeping it). They are refusing to pay for the damages they cost my car which totaled over $1,500. I'm on the right track to go to claims court and I have already contacted better business bureau.
