Fun fact: your steering wheel can reach temperatures hot enough to make you question every life decision you’ve ever made in a Texas summer.

Window tint helps with that.

Most people only see the finished result.
What they don’t see is everything that happens before the film ever fully locks onto the glass.

On Tesla frameless windows, precision matters at every stage:
• Heat shrinking the film to match the curvature of the glass
• Clean transfer and alignment
• Water extraction for clarity and adhesion
• Edge shaving and filing for a flush factory-style finish

A clean tint install isn’t just about making the car darker. It’s about fitment, clarity, longevity, and attention to detail.

We take the time to do it right because Tesla glass leaves very little room for shortcuts.

Serving Killeen, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, and the surrounding Central Texas area.

If you’re looking for quality over shortcuts, you’re in the right place.

Most people think bad tint only means fading or turning purple.
That’s only part of it.

What you’re seeing here is adhesive failure. The layers of film begin separating from years of heat exposure, poor manufacturing, cheap adhesives, or improper installation. That’s what causes the bubbling, distortion, and hazy look over time.

And it’s not just “cheap dyed tint” either.
There’s plenty of low-quality carbon and ceramic film on the market doing the exact same thing.

Then you have installation issues. Improper shrinking, contamination, trapped fingers, tension points, and poor prep all eventually show themselves once the film settles and ages in real-world heat.

Window tint is one of those things where everything can look fine on day one.
The real test is year two… year three… year five.

That’s why we take the time to study the spec sheets, understand the construction of the film we install, and choose products we’d genuinely trust on our own vehicles.

Anyone can sell you “ceramic.”
Not everyone can deliver a film and installation actually worth investing in.

This is the upgrade people skip first… then wish they did sooner.

Window tint is one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until it’s on your car.

The look gets cleaner.
The cabin feels better.
The glare calms down.
The privacy changes everything.

And suddenly the car feels more finished.
Not louder. Not overdone. Just sharper.

If your glass is still giving fishbowl energy, this is probably your sign.
Skip the “I should’ve.”

Would you pay $600+ for tint just because it came from a “shop”?

Some places hire someone with zero experience, run them through a 3 day course, put a shop shirt on them, and suddenly the install is “premium.”

That’s not craftsmanship.
That’s branding doing the heavy lifting.

Window tint is one of those services where the final price should reflect more than a building, a logo, or a front desk.

It should reflect:

Clean prep
Film quality
Actual install experience
Attention to edges
Contamination control
Warranty support
The ability to fix problems when they show up

Because here’s the truth:
A bad tint job from a shop is still a bad tint job.

And a clean install from someone who takes pride in the work is still a clean install.

So before you hand over $600, ask better questions:

Who’s actually installing it?
How long have they been tinting?
What film are they using?
What warranty comes with it?
What happens if there’s an issue?

Don’t pay for the illusion of quality.

Pay for the work.

At Chroma Auto Lab, we’re not here to play big shop.

We’re here to do clean work, educate you, and make sure your vehicle leaves better than it came in.

Would you pay more just because it came from a “shop”?

Or are you paying for the person actually touching your glass?

Are you experiencing symptoms of fishbowling?

AC blasting but your face still getting cooked…
glare got you fighting for your life…
steering wheel hot enough to question your decisions…

That’s not your car. That’s your glass failing you.
Most people think tint is just for looks.

Meanwhile their interior is getting faded, their AC is working overtime, and the sun is doing whatever it wants.

Side effects may include:
cooler cabins, less glare, actual comfort, and your car finally making sense again.

Consult Chroma Auto Lab about treatment options.

Same angle. Same car.

One small change.

If you blink, you’ll miss it.

Watch it again… did you catch it? 👀

This is what a properly done windshield tint looks like—no distraction, just a cleaner, cooler view.

Drop a 👀 if you saw it the first time

Be honest… most people don’t

Windshield tint starts before the film ever touches the glass.

It all comes down to prep.

First, protection.

The dash, electronics, and surrounding areas get covered before anything else. Even during cleaning, water and solution can run down the glass, so if you’re not protecting early, you’re already setting yourself up for problems.

Then the glass gets cleaned.

Every bit of dust, lint, and residue has to be removed because whatever is left behind will get trapped under the film and show in the final result.

After prep, the film gets shaped on the outside.

The film starts flat, but the windshield is curved, so heat is used to shrink it and form it to the glass. That’s what allows it to lay down clean on the inside without fingers, creases, or distortion.

Then it’s install time.

Controlled water, precise pressure, and patience to get a clean, even finish.

A proper windshield install isn’t just about making it darker.

It’s prep, shaping, and ex*****on all working together.

Most people only see the end result.
This is what actually goes into it.

5 things you should know before getting full vehicle tint:

1. Full coverage changes the whole experience.
Tinting the sides and rear helps with privacy, glare, and the overall look. Adding the windshield brings the front of the vehicle into the same experience, which matters because that front glass takes a lot of direct sunlight.

2. You do not always need ceramic on every window to get a quality upgrade.
This Jeep went with carbon film on the sides and rear, which is still a strong upgrade for clean styling, privacy, glare reduction, and long-term color stability. Ceramic is great, but not everyone needs to go ceramic all the way around to get a solid result.

3. The windshield is where ceramic makes a lot of sense.
Since most people want to keep the windshield at a lighter VLT for visibility, ceramic film is a smart choice there. It can reject more heat without needing to go extremely dark, which helps keep the cabin more comfortable while keeping the view cleaner from the inside.

4. Darkness and performance are not the same thing.
A darker film does not automatically mean better heat rejection. Film type matters. That is why this setup used carbon where privacy and style mattered most, and ceramic on the windshield where heat rejection at a lighter shade mattered more.

5. Premium tint should be built around how you actually drive.
The goal is not just dark windows. It is privacy, comfort, glare control, UV protection, and a setup that makes sense for the vehicle and the owner.
This Grand Cherokee went all in with carbon on the sides and rear, plus ceramic on the windshield.

Not overbuilt.
Not underdone.
Just the right setup for the way they wanted the Jeep to look and feel.
