Building Bertha pt. 2 🚐🔧
Back at it with our 2016 Ford Transit Connect!!
Shout out bradley Moss for helpn out.
This time we got the rubber mats glued down on the floors with spray adhesive, then bolted down the air hose reel and electrical reel. Slowly getting everything in its place instead of having to move stuff around every time we need something 😂
It’s funny how something that seems like a quick little project ends up taking way longer than you thought. You start working on one thing, realize something else needs to move, and then spend half the time figuring out how you want it all to fit. There’s only so much room in a Transit Connect, so we’re trying to make the most of what we’ve got.
We still have plenty left to do, and I’m sure once we start using this setup more we’ll find things we want to change. For now, though, it feels good seeing it come together. Every time we get something mounted or finish another little section, the van starts feeling more like the setup we had in mind.
And yeah, it’s not going to be perfect. You might see an uneven edge or something you would’ve done differently. We’re figuring some of this out as we go, and we’re good with that. To us, it’s more than good enough, and we’re proud of it.
We need Bertha to work for us every day—to keep our equipment organized, make setting up easier, and get us out to our customers ready to detail. She’s going to get used, get dirty, and probably get rearranged a few times along the way.
Wanted to share this part too because there’s a lot happening before we ever pull up to someone’s driveway. Just us putting time into the van and trying to make it a little better whenever we can.
Appreciate everyone following along with the build. More work on Bertha coming soon 🤝
What’s one thing you’d make sure to have in your detailing van?
