Little project from this last winter. Road racing grassroots application with service in mind.

David Aebischer Needed a wiring harness built for his turbo K24 hatch so I delivered!

I was able to make custom bracketry to fit multiple electrical components in places of convenience along with machining a custom block for an oil temp/pressure sensor. All of this combined with sub harnesses for quick service on the fuel rail and ignition coils is a winning package. The more things you can pull off with less work, the better. Of course my harnesses come with personally made wiring diagrams for easy diagnostics, part ordering, and general service if needed. A base map to get the car running down the road custom configured for this car was implemented as well. With the Haltech, it's very simple to set up and get the car running down the road.

If you have a car that needs wiring, tuning, fabrication, or suspension work, don't hesitate to ask me what I can do for you!

It's a small world. I found a local 944 owner on Rennlist and reached out to him to talk cars. He ended up needing a solution to allow his ITBs to suck up clean air. The simplest solution seemed to be a box. With the help of solidworks and the tools in the shop, I was able to make him...a box!

This was made out of various thicknesses of aluminum with the inlet being made out of PA6-GF. One of the benefits of 3d printing is allowing a complex shape to be made much easier than it would compared to other methods of manufacturing. Everything is bonded and bolted together and only welded where necessary.

The pod filter is just a placeholder, there is an intake pipe we made, but didn't have a coupler for it and we wanted to see the engine run.

A massive shout out to Jamie Minshall with his business Eco Installations.

I called him with a recommendation from a fellow Lucky Dog racer and he was able to set me up with a set of insulated roll up doors for my new shop. I couldn't be happier with the price, the communication, and the speed of the assembly on these doors.

If you're in the market for doors, I'd highly recommend him and his business.

Summer is coming up which means I have to take a step back for a few months from big projects.

The new shop is receiving doors in June which means we're just an electricity install away from being operational in a new place!

Sunday Setup Shop will not be taking cars for big projects until September.

Short jobs that can be done in a weekend like alignments, tuning, and basic fixes are still being taken.

Thank you,
Dillon

Here we have a data driven analysis of a final drive change I did with my Integra. There is no free lunch, but in this case it was worth it. We'll see how it compares to events later in the year.

A little background before I get in to it. My car is a heavily modified 2001 Acura Integra and I tend to be stuck racing at the Ridge Motorsports Park in Washington a lot, so I have some data after a ton of laps on it. The car has 220hp with a bolt on K20A Type R engine and transmission My tires...

Today we found out yet another reason not to use replica parts.

Lexus SC300 with a Haltech 2500 came in with drive by wire codes and a strong rev hang.

A little bit of digging and I came across the realization that the throttle body on the car was in fact a replica part. The side of the throttle body that was supposed to have markings on it was not exposed when the hood of the car was open.

A new and genuine GM throttle body was put in it's place and all of a sudden, everything started to work. No codes on the test drive and the throttle body was hitting the targets the ecu was commanding. Nothing like a simple fix.

See if you can spot the differences 🙂

This past weekend, I decided to take pictures of cars instead of working on them. Here are my favorites from the Rolex 24. Business will resume as normal now that I am back!

It's been a great year and I've learned a lot and I'd love to share a few cars I got to work on.

The Big One
Ford Fiesta
-Link Voodoo Pro, DI driver, and PDM install
There was no information on the cars fuel system so this was a tricky one to obtain. Many brackets and a few tools had to be made, but overall I am very satisfied with the result. This was an entire car rewire from top to bottom.

FD Rx7
-Haltech install with a few extra brackets and some wiring fixes to the supplied harnesses. This was a challenging project, but had a satisfying end to it. It required some help from some friends to say the least. The car was aligned from the ground up and was tuned just enough to get it safely down the road.

Lexus SC300 (Not Pictured)
-Many little things done for various parts of wiring on the car. Overall, the car has been improved a lot since the first time I've worked on it

Currently
Honda Civic EK
-In for a Haltech install and a few bits and bobs of fabrication and machining solutions to make it all come together. This one is an engine harness from the ground up and I look forward to seeing it run in local time attack.

Here and there were a few alignments as well and overall the year was fun and an exciting first step to the business.

Thank you all for a wonderful first year.

It's very cool to me that we live in a timeline where we can scan things and put them in to digital space.

One of many brackets I have to make for a wiring project. In this case, I needed something for a turbo K series that could support wires at different angles and I achieved just that.
