At Jennings Wing Car we celebrate what is, in our minds, the greatest two vehicles to ever drive out of Detroit: the 1969 Charger Daytona and the 1970 Plymouth Superbird. On a summer’s night sometime in the 1970s, our founder Bob Jennings, was on the side of the highway in Hanover, Indiana when an orange Bird flew past. This orange, near twenty foot long, 426 horse powered bird was something to be
hold with its pointed aerodynamic nose and vertical wing on the trunk bringing the car to just under 6 feet tall. This bird landed on Bob’s mind and never left. The journey to ownership over the next 40 years was nothing short of a story book for Bob and one might think it came to an end in 2010 when he finally purchased his first wing car: a 1970 Plymouth Superbird in Alpine White. But in reality, the intro had only just been written. Now, in 2022, the Jennings Wing Car hangar houses 8 wings: 6 Plymouth Superbirds and 2 Charger Daytonas. Apart from 2018, one has been acquired every year since 2016, with two joining the fleet in 2020. Here at JWC, we aim to celebrate the history and power of these ‘beautiful’ MOPAR wing cars. You won’t find Trailer Queens or Showroom Gals here. Bob and JWC believe to love these cars is to drive them and we practice what we preach as Bob has even driven his original from Key West to Alaska
