Founded in 1964 by Marvin Lane Sr., a determined Georgia native who relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, Cross State Towing & Repair Co. was built on a simple but enduring foundation: hard work, integrity, and a commitment to doing every job right. What began as one man’s vision has grown into a trusted, multi-generational family business that continues to proudly serve the maritime industry more than 60 years later.

Still family-owned and operated today, Cross State has remained true to the values that Marvin established from day one. Through decades of changing tides and evolving technology, our dedication to dependable service, honest relationships, and quality workmanship has never wavered.

We provide a full range of marine services, including tugboat operations, vessel towing, docking and undocking assistance, dry dock support, marine and equipment repairs, salvage operations, emergency response, and specialized marine support for commercial, industrial, and government customers. One of our unique capabilities is our marine railway, which allows us to haul tugboats, barges, and other vessels completely out of the water for inspections, maintenance, structural repairs, and major overhauls. This enables us to provide efficient, high-quality repair services while minimizing downtime for our customers.
